During our summer holiday in Jūrmala, we came to this place 2 times. The food was always good, however the service was just disappointing. No smile, no self-reflection and simply missing to care about guests and make the guests restaurant visit a great pleasure. Unfortunately it is not a great dining experience at this place and it’s such a pity because the kitchen/ the food is really great. We gave a second chance and we were disappointed a second time. In particular the experience we had today was very bad! We wanted to order dumplings for our 2,5 year old son and the recommendation of the waiter was “oh no this will take too long, I recommend you to take something else”. Alright, we chose the pasta with meat. However it was super strange because we saw all the other tables around us (that ordered after us), receiving dumplings. Anyway, my husband and I received our meals (porterhouse steak and filet mignon) after a long waiting time (which we accepted), however our son did still not receive his pasta. And there was no excuse and no understanding. Finally our little son received his pasta- luckily he was quiet most of the time but needless to say that as toddler parents you are happy to receive the child meals faster than your own meal. Unfortunately the same long long waiting time happened for one coup of strawberry ice cream for our son. But the most bad thing about our visit was when we were about to pay. Usually you are asked by the service team whether everything was ok, here the only mean comment we received was about our tip and whether we seriously “only want to give 1€ of tip”. The bill was 138,50€ and my husband said “140€”. The waiter was so arrogant that I explained to him that usually you give a tip when you are happy with the service. My husband was even so nice and said “ok no worries, I increase my tip to 5€“ and what did the waiter do? He put “145€” in the paying machine, so all in all 6,50€ of tip which was way to high for this arrogant and ignorant service. The waiter was mentioning: “you saw how busy we were”. And also this is not true, the restaurant was not full and a simple “apologize the food took longer than expected” is really something that you expect from a good service. I am sorry to share this negative feedback, the food/ kitchen is super good, we are willing to give reasonable tips (and yes we know that usually you give minimum 10% of tip in Latvia), but having being treated so unfair and unfriendly, I really hope the service team will self reflect and improve. Kindness is a boomerang, it comes back! We would not recommend this place, there are better places in...
Read moreWhile the food is really nice and 3 kids we had with us really enjoyed it, the service kills the experience. First you have to wait for somebody to approach you for 20 mins, then it takes an hour to get the food, then you have to hunt a waiter to order something else and then the bill arrives - my recommendation for everybody is to check bill contents, as you might not notice it overall, but some individual items had a nice price increase - beer prices got €0.5 added and 10% service from €232.10 ended up being €24. I didn’t check the rest, but when I wanted to take the bill with me, I’ve been asked to return it, copier stopped working so I couldn’t get a copy and putting it through the till would take over 5 mins, so I decided to leave it there as I had kids waiting outside. Just wanted to share so you all are aware and are careful, as this place earns money in lots of different ways, and not all of them are as enjoyable as the...
Read moreI definitely DO NOT RECCOMEND this restaurant. The staff walks past you and ignores you, but the people from Russia were served immediately. We were sitting at the table for 15 minutes, the waiter didn't even ask us about the drink. The waiter and the waitress sat behind the bar and talked, another waiter walked around the restaurant and pretended not to see us. I would not expect this from a restaurant in this price range. Unfortunately, after this arrogance, we got up after a quarter of an hour and went elsewhere....
