Can’t say anything about the food..because we didn’t even get inside the restaurant. When we approached the door with child in the stroller and elderly man in very aggressive and rude way told us that it’s forbidden to enter the restaurant with stroller also we couldn’t understand what he first told us because he was speaking is Russian and I guess didn’t knew national language…and then he just shut the doors. I don’t say anything there might be limitation and I understand maybe there is some places where there isn’t place for strollers but this time the most unpleasant thing was the way how the worker or owner spoke…laud, rude and in language that isn’t even Latvian and which we don’t understand before shutting door in our faces… so if you have children run away...
Read moreI guess by now it is a ritual for ne to visit this place everytime i visit Latvia. Previously it was in Jonas street, Jurmala but for some reason they moved to Rīga. The portions are humongous and you will be served with meat goodness. I always go for the pork karbonad and the lamb chalahad. It takes time to serve, so don't come if you are in a rush. I would advise you to eat with friends here as their food is best...
————————— Everything comes to an end eventually, and the glory of Caucasian cuisine at Pie Gabrieļa has faded as well. Despite the rude and abrasive manner of the elderly owner — something we used to overlook because of the delicious Armenian dishes — today we were served terrible food: overcooked solyanka with dried-out, old sausage; overly spicy kharcho; and burnt yet undercooked fatty shashlik made from pork neck. But the true horror was the lukewarm, miniature dolma with barely any filling — 50% of which was just rice.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have my phone with me to take shots for the public!
I hope they take my review seriously and work on improving the quality...
