Pizza Marinara — Restaurant in Druskininkai

Not sure how this place has a 4.8 rating — it really doesn't match the experience.

We visited Marinara during a 5-day stay in Druskininkai, and this was the only place with no English menu whatsoever. Just a laminated A4 sheet in Lithuanian, with no effort to help non-Lithuanian speakers understand the pizza options.

For a tourist town, that’s disappointing and unwelcoming. Every other restaurant in the area had at least some English. Here, you're left guessing what's on each pizza — not ideal when trying to enjoy a meal out.

The pizza itself was reminiscent of a school cafeteria lunch. The base lacked the characteristic doughy quality you expect from a an Italian pizza, as advertised by the restaurant. To make matters worse, the pepperoni wasn't pepperoni at all. Instead, they used some kind of low-grade chorizo (?) with an unpleasant flavor. Overall, the pizza was far from worth...

The quality and freshness of the ingredients really shine through and combined with the dedicated staff and family friendly environment result in some of the best pizza I‘ve had anywhere.
