We called to reserve a table, however when we came to our lunch, they did not find any reservation, and simply said they don’t recall anyone calling yesterday. We were told to wait around 30 minutes to get served, although the restaurant was empty. The staff that served us, does not speak Lithuanian. Speaking english wasn’t a problem for us, but I believe the restaurant should focus on having staff that speaks local language. Food: soup of the day was “chilli soup” - it should better be called “vinegar soup” as eating it does not give any other taste, rather than plain vinegar because of excessive amount of vinegary onions. Chickpea curry - never had a food in my life that wouldn’t have ANY taste at all. You normally get spice, sweetness, all the same time, here - you get nothing. My date chose Duck Confit - it was good, but the excessive amount of cranberries it came with just shows that the chef does not really understand the purpose of it in a meal, and that it is just should come for the taste accent, not to be one of the main ingriedents on the plate, as after eating there was a pile of it left. Overall, the location is nice, but I wouldn’t recommend going there, it is not worth the restaurant’s name...
Read moreI have to echo the other reviewers, we stayed at the hotel which has fantastic service and was a great experience however the 2 nights we ate at the restaurant we had the exact same poor service. First night we gave our drink order 15 minutes after arriving and they came to the table after 25 minutes... we were 40 minutes in the restaurant before the drinks arrived. The second night we ordered our drinks right when they sat us at the table, after 30 minutes I asked where our drinks were, they had not brought them yet. It was another 15 minutes from that point that they arrived... 45 minutes!! The food was similarly slow both nights, over 45 minutes night 1 and 1:15 night two which was particularly tough as we had 2 small children waiting/hungry to eat (I had to go back to the room to get snacks while we waited).
Food was as noted in other reviews, ok to good although overpriced for what you get. But the service (while friendly) is completely incompetent. There were 5 staff (including the manager) and only 5 tables night 2 and still had those horrible wait times!!
In short, highly recommend the hotel for a stay and avoid the restaurant...
Read moreFood was great but service lacked attention and care that would justify the payed amount. I work in horeca myself making me more biased but I was highly disappointed with how our time there was handled. I sense understaffing on kitchen and service levels. It was not admirable to hear that the restaurant was not aware of our reservation. This wasn’t a nice starting point and considering the restaurant was almost empty details of poor management within your workplace should not be told to your guests. I hope that we will not experience dejavu of this place in any other place we will visit in the future. Perhaps it works out when you come at a busy time with more staff available and if you are certain your favourite staff members will be present. If you are brave enough to go I recommend octopus but the fried burrata seemed to have come from a grocery store which will be disappointing if you have tried a proper burrata that is served in restaurants. If you are looking for a poor level service hidden under an expensive price tag...
