Firstly, when arriving, a waitress with dark hair tied up in a ponytail gave me a dirty look and refused to seat me and my partner. Instead she was happily serving two American guys with a smile and proceeded to ignore us at the door. After waiting for a while she finally sat us at a table which had not been cleaned. It took another few minutes for her to clean the table.
We came in 1 hour before the lunch period ended and wanted to share a pizza between us. We saw on the other tables that the portion was big and we’d be happy enough to share one. Our waitress did not say anything about any requirement for more than one item being ordered so we presumed this would be okay.
My partner (not a POC) ordered first and she was happy taking his order and smiling. He explained that we would be sharing it and she said that’s okay. When she turned to me to take my order (POC), I said “Oh we’re sharing that pizza”, and she immediately mocked my accent and said “NO, YOU CAN’T DO THAT”. I was a bit taken aback by her tone of voice and asked if I could order 1/2 of a pizza, which was available on the menu with a price. She immediately argued back with me saying I couldn’t do that and I had to get a full size pizza. I couldn’t finish a pizza on my own and she forced us to order another or she wouldn’t put the order through.
While waiting for the food, there were multiple flies flying around and landing on our table. When the pizzas arrived, they were way too large for anyone to eat. It literally felt as if the waitress told them to make it comically large to embarrass us as they were nothing like the size of the table beside us. Obviously it was very difficult to eat and honestly was a horrible pizza. No one came to ask if we enjoyed it or how our meal went, but it’s probably because they knew they were ruining our experience as it was. Flies also kept landing on our pizza so yes that was very appealing.
When asking for the bill, again, all waiters were ignoring us obviously asking for the bill. The same racist female waitress only wanted to make eye contact with my partner and not me before bringing the bill over. This whole process took another 10 minutes as well!
I couldn’t finish my pizza so they offered me a takeaway box but then gave it in a large pizza box! I’m sorry but we clearly were tourists waiting to catch the next bus and you expect us to bring that all the way to Vianden? It was such a joke, as they knew we wouldn’t finish it and were travelling right after!
I’ve never been so disgusted with a place in my life. You ruined our first impression of a restaurant in your country of Luxembourg and you should feel ashamed of representing your country like this. Teach your staff basic respect, instead of treating the only non-white customer in the restaurant at the...
Read moreWo soll man Anfangen?
