I wish I could review the food but unfortunately we were sent away.
At first I was told that there were no free tables. Fair enough. I ask the server if he thinks that a table might free up soon given than he has served them and should know if someone is almost done eating. He just shrugs his shoulders at me. I stand there, surprised by the seeming lack of enthusiasm and he tells me they take no reservations on the weekends. Okay, kinda silly but not the server’s fault. There were a lot of four people tables outside with only two people sitting around them. There was even a four people table with only one person so wouldn’t it make more sense to take reservations and exploit the small place’s full potential?
Anyway, I leave and call my three other friends to tell them I just got turned away. One of them tells me she’s already sitting inside and has a table for us. I happily go back in and the server tells me I can’t come in. I explain that my friend is already sitting at a table and he says “No, because of the dog”. I had my 4 kg small dog with me. But I have never ever been turned away at any place in Luxembourg because of my dog so this came as a big surprise. In more southern countries like Spain or Italy I wouldn’t have been surprised but in extremely dog-friendly Luxembourg it really came as a shock that a tiny dog that would just sit under my chair and wouldn’t bother anyone is not allowed.
Needless to say this experience was a big disappointment all around. We all had to leave and go somewhere else. I wish I had something nice to say but...
Read moreWhile this spot appears to serve mouthwatering brunch, their problematic seating system completely undermines the brunch experience. The no-reservation policy forces diners into an impossible choice: either show up at 9am (defeating the whole purpose of brunch) or face an uncertain and lengthy wait.
During our visit, we tried to secure a table - stepping out for a walk and returning, waiting outside for over 30 minutes - all to no avail. The only seating option offered was sharing a table with strangers, which isn't ideal when you're looking forward to a relaxed weekend meal.
The real shame is that their menu looks fantastic, but what's the point of great food if you can't properly enjoy it? A successful brunch spot should understand that brunch is about leisurely enjoying a late breakfast or early lunch, not rushing to beat the crowds at dawn.
Until they implement a better system to manage their crowds, like a proper waitlist or reservations, you might want to have a backup plan. No eggs benedict is worth starting your weekend with stress and frustration.
At the end we gave up and went to a supermarket to buy groceries to make...
Read moreHabla Manotas,
So as you know it the taste and quality will be present all over your order. The dishes are colorful and generously served. Barely everyone will finish. According to that important factor I would have given them the 5 stars BUT the service is awfully slow.
We got immediately a table. 15’ later people that came after us got the menu. Then I went in and took the menus. 10’ later we ordered. 12’ later we got the drinks, delicious cocktail (!). And then we had to wait another 46’ to finally get the food. When the food came the waiter apologized and offered us a round of drinks. Recognizing one’s mistake is something not everyone admits.
So if you have lots of time try them because it’s really good. But hopefully I’m writing about something they will eventually fix because it’s a pity their efforts in serving good quality food and drinks is forgotten by costumers that become hungry and angry due to a...
