My recent lunch experience at Chiche in Esch was nothing short of delightful. Upon entering, the welcoming atmosphere set the stage for what turned out to be an authentic Lebanese culinary journey.
We kicked off our meal with refreshing homemade lemonade that instantly invigorated our taste buds. The menu offered a variety of enticing options, and our choice of Chiche Tavuk exceeded expectations. The dish showcased a generous portion size, making it evident that Chiche values providing good value for money.
Being a fan of Mutabal, I couldn't resist ordering it, and Chiche's rendition proved to be a must-try. The creamy texture and rich flavors were a testament to the authenticity of the Lebanese taste embedded in every bite.
What truly stood out was the commitment to preserving the essence of Lebanese cuisine. Each dish exuded authenticity, transporting us momentarily to the streets of Lebanon. The flavors were robust, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation reflective of a genuine Lebanese dining experience.
The attentive servers added an extra layer of satisfaction to our visit. Their welcoming demeanor and prompt service enhanced the overall dining experience. Chiche is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary haven for those seeking a taste of Lebanon in Esch. Whether you're a seasoned lover of Lebanese cuisine or a newcomer, Chiche is undoubtedly a place where authenticity meets a warm,...
Read moreThe place strives to emancipate itself from the image of fast food to a full-fledged restaurant status but clearly only the prices are worth of the latter. For instance, the cheap, although original, interior decorations and furniture, including tables and chairs give the impression of being harvested from a land dump. However, both the dining room and the toilets were reasonably clean. The service was fast and the waitress was exceptionally kind, smiling and professional. Although the name conjures images of felafels and hummus, the place's real distinguishing signature is their potato chips: homemade, perfectly fried, great taste and texture, addictive. The felafel sandwich was decent, but the wrap used was not the same bread served with the mezze, ie the classical lebanese flat bread, but it was one of those smelly industrial fake mexican wrap. When it comes to the hummus, it was on the same level of supermarket equivalents, with no garlic detected and light on tahini, but for 7.50€ though. The vegetarian "combo" was served without the mutabal nor the haloumi cheese, nor the cheese rolls, nor the yalanjii, despite them being mentioned in the menu. The tabouli salad was almost non-existent. The price of this miserable "combo" of absents...
