We visited this restaurant over the weekend as part of RestoDays, with a reservation made nearly three weeks in advance. Given the anticipation and the restaurant’s beautiful setting, we were genuinely excited to finally dine here. Unfortunately, despite the quality of the food, the overall experience was disappointing due to the poor level of service.
To begin with, we interacted with at least five different staff members throughout the afternoon, each seemingly assigned to different tasks such as taking drink orders, food orders, serving, and handling general requests. While this in itself isn’t an issue, the lack of coordination led to a noticeably disjointed and inattentive service.
We had to ask for water three separate times, and it never arrived. Eventually, we gave up trying. Our aperitif champagne was flat and unappealing, and to make matters worse, a wasp fell into the glass, which none of the staff noticed or addressed, we had to request its removal ourselves.
Another misstep occurred when we requested bread, but the server returned with a glass of wine instead. While we politely clarified that we had asked for bread, the server responded with an eye roll, which felt unprofessional and uncalled for. We were then charged for the wine we didn’t request, though to their credit, this was resolved without issue when we raised it.
For a dining experience we had looked forward to, the poor service undermined what could have been a wonderful Sunday afternoon. While the food itself was genuinely enjoyable, it’s hard to overlook the lack of attentiveness we encountered.
At this point, I’m not sure I would recommend or revisit this restaurant, unless there is a clear improvement in the quality of service to match the standard of the cuisine. A truly great dining experience...
Read moreThe restaurant is nicely located on the Gaalgenbierg, with a big parking next to it. After the redesign and renovations the interios simply looks stunning. Tabletops, plates, glasswear and so on are really well chosen and tell you that a ot of thought went into it before your first plate arrives.
Food wise you can go with some menus or a la carte. Having chosen both options over there, I can recommend going with the menu on your fist visit. It's a good value for the quality and amount you get
The tapas selection is also quite large and they were very delicious. As an example, the fried goat cheese tapas were incredible. The fried outer layer was so thin you wonder how they did it. I can also recommend the beef tartar which is being prepared in front of you. It was very tasty and the amount was generous, which I really enjoyed. Sometimes in finer restaurants the amount of food you get à la carte is simply not enough, but not at this place.
All dishes served were of very high quality and visually very appealing. There were only very minor flaws you could point to, but none would impact the overall experience.
I wouldn't be surprised if the chef would get a bib gourmand if he would chose to offer a menu in that price range.
Best restaurant in Esch ( some would maybe consider Favaro, but haven't visited...
Read moreI visited Bosque Fevi during the RestoDays in Luxembourg, and the experience was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. While the restaurant didn’t have high chairs for children, the staff was incredibly attentive and ensured we were all comfortable. The special menu offered a three-course meal for 42 euros, including a generous starter, main course, and dessert, with an optional additional 7 euros for a cheese plate. The starter was quite filling, almost like a main dish, which left nothing to be desired. Shortly after, the main course arrived, beautifully presented and equally delicious. The attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. We paired our meal with a Spanish rosé wine, which we absolutely loved. We later discovered it was highly rated and well-recommended, adding even more to our dining experience. The dessert also met our high expectations, rounding off a...
