Ristorante Essenza — Restaurant in Luxembourg

UPD: since the restaurant decided to reply in an interesting manner I am updating my review. There is indeed nice cutlery from IKEA, what we had was the cheapest set they sell in a pack of 8 for 5.99. Resto days or not (which was 39, not 34, to which you in a very smart way added suggested wine for 14 euro a glass without putting the price of the wine on the menu), the table is supposed to be set nicely when the client arrives. You’re saying - ask the waiver to change - which one? The one we had to wait for 20-25 min to catch to get our bill? Good waiter would notice how I was comparing the forks and knives and saying that none of 4 matched. It was not only cutlery - the “dessert” which was just melted sorbet from a grocery store came in champagne glasses with brand logos. If you participate in RestoDays only to get rid of whatever you have lying around, then maybe you shouldn’t participate in them in the first place.

Came for RestoDays and were quite disappointed. None of the cutlery matched (imagine 4 different forks and knives), most from IKEA - for a place that normally charges 30-40 euro per plate it’s just unacceptable....

The RestoDays menu 2024 has been an interesting journey that have tantalized the taste buds.

Aa known the restaurant boasts an elegant setting, perfect for both festive weekends and intimate dinners. We were accompanied by our dog and he was highly welcomed. We have received a beautiful table away from the busy part. That way we were able to fully enjoy our diner while our dog was sleeping.

The RestoDays menu is a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to freshness and quality. Highlights include the Crudo di mare, a delicate carpaccio of salmon marinated in orange, sesame, and mint, and the sea bass for 10€ more. For those with a sweet tooth, the MilleFoglie with red fruits and the Sorbetto che passione offer a refreshing end to the meal. A good wine out of the Puglia made the dinner complete.

Overall, the experience is that Essenza Luxembourg during RestoDays 2024 has been culinary interesting. With its sumptuous dishes, attentive service, and a good ambiance, it’s a dining experience to repeat. We have not been disappointed. All good. It is hard to give this restaurant anything but a good review.

First of all the options on the menu are a bit special and not your typical spaghetti carbonara or Bolognese but rather with extras or raviolli with beef sauce. The food was a bit more expensive than usual but very tasty.

The staff was also nice and the experience was really good. The only negatives that come to mind is that they could expand on the starters as most are very expensive (as much as the main dishes) and there is almost only fish for starters.

Second: The portions are acceptable but still on the smaller side.
