In short: Good. But wouldn't travel more than 20 mins for it.
In length: I called them to make a reservation the night before for a table that would be suitable to have a small birthday celebration with 9 adults and 3 kids. As they do not have a private room, they said that they could accommodate by reserving a table inside so it would be more comfortable.
We arrived to have a table reserved outside. But it's not that it matters that much as there is no wall whatsoever that separates indoor or outdoor.
We mainly came for the crabs (as the name gave an idea that that would be their specialty), however my family left the restaurant a little disappointed by the quality of the crab. Any seafood lovers would know when their seafood is not of fresh quality and doesn't have that distinct sweet salty seafood taste. That distinct salty seafood taste was absent in our food that night, and the crab meat doesn't come out whole (it was sticking to the shell), despite we ordered the biggest size.
We ordered several different dishes;
Mud Crab XXXL (Ketam Nipah) in Monggolian Sauce: This is the restaurant's signature dish, which I don't find to be very impressive, but didn't find it to be bad either. The sauce was of creamy texture and heavily peppered. Not sweet, not spicy, but not exciting. Not bad, I guess.
Mud Crab XXXL in Salted Egg: We were served salted egg that is of the dry type, which we were a little disappointed with as we prefer the creamier type of salted egg dish. I wouldn't blame it on the restaurant for this though. So.. it wasn't bad. But do keep in mind that it's not the creamy salted egg that you can use your mantao to mop the sauce up. Just as a note: the waiter didn't gave us any option either, so I assume they just always serve it that way? I'm not sure.
Squid in Salted Egg: Again, this is the dry type of salted egg dish. As the matter of fact, it was dry to a point of being crispy. But it was surprisingly very good.
Butter Prawn: Mm. Wasn't bad.
Nasi Goreng: Typical kind of good.
Mantao: A little on the oily side (yes I know mantao are fried), but they were nice and crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside.
Kailan with Garlic: It's a fried vege. Can't mess it up.
Generally, the service was good. They definitely tried their very best to cater to our needs.
All in all: it was good. But, I wouldn't travel more than 20...

We wanted to try the fatty grab. However, the only available crab was the indonesian mud. It was over our budget, so we ordered the broccoli with mushroom gravy, butter prawn, fried squid and lime-steamed fish.
I personally love the broccoli because the mushroom gravy added a marvelous taste to the boring vegetable. (4/5)
The butter prawn was good too. It was not too salty or too buttery. The size of the prawn was pretty standard. I wish it was bigger. (4/5)
The fried squid was quite crunchy and the squid was easy to chew. (4/5)
The steamed fish was different than what I used to taste. It was quite sweet and spicy. But not in a bad way. For me, it complemented the other dishes. (4/5)
We also ordered fried mee, not sure which one. The noodle was quite thick and it was not spicy at all. It also had a wok-hay taste.
The orange juices were the highlight. I ordered two kinds- with sugar and without sugar. Both tasted good depending on your preferences. It might be better if they only put in just a little bit sugar for taste.
All the dishes cost us RM150, which i think was quite reasonable for its quality. The most expensive ones were the fish (rm65- quite big) and prawn (rm28 -around 6 pieces).
There were two of us. However, it could have feed three people. So it was worth...
Read moreManaged to surprise my husband on his birthday yesterday, with a lot of help from En Faizal & Team IFC. They surprised my husband by singing Happy birthday, carrying a very live Alaskan King Crab all the way from the kitchen.
We even got to experience cutting the crab shell on our own, before En Tami came over to expertly prepare the rest for us. Team went through the trouble of carving a very delicate string of Happy Birthday made out of carrot, on our main serving plate.
Alaskan King Crab was steamed for about 30mins before serving. It was so succulent and sweet, perfect just as is. Complimentary sauce was provided on the side.
We also ordered the much raved Salted Egg squid which was super yummy and tasteful. The mantou buns were crunchy on the outside whilst soft and warm on the inside. I had repeat order of the kendondong asam boi whilst hubby had the mango juice.
Much to both our surprise, team IFC again sang Happy birthday after our meal. This time with 2 slices of Secret Recipe Chocolate Indulgence cake, complimentary from En Faizal, who went to the trouble of purchasing whilst we were enjoying our meal.
Terima Kasih En Faizal & Team IFC for such a heartwarming experience. I would have rated 10 stars.
Tip: We went early on a weekday (6.30pm) and were the...
