I was greeted by the restaurant cashier once I entered the restaurant if I were to be honest, he seemed not really friendly and not keen to explain to my queries about the differences between ala-carte and buffet.
I choose the buffet style anyway and through the menu card, I was told that in addition to the meats and seafoods prepared in the freezer, i will get to enjoy some desserts and ice cream.
I was good that he gave me the table that I wanted. Then I went to the dessert counter first to choose something cold and sweet as and appetiser. Unfortunately nothing was served yet and there only was pint of mint ice cream in the freezer. The person that in charger for the dessert section said there is no other ice cream that might be available and she insisted that they only served mint flavoured ice cream on that day. I was little bit frustrated.
Then, the special sauce did not really please to my tastebud. The roasted sesame sauce had a strong peanut texture and taste. It did not blend in well with other ingredients.
I once again, went to the dessert counter again, to my suprise there were only a few of cakes there. I took the blueberry cheesecake and asked for another small slice. To my disappointment, the staff in charge once again told me that was the ONLY slice that they have. I could not brain this at all! They should be more generous in serving the dessert and they should be more friendly and smile to their patrons
On the bright side, I was glad with the variety of meats served there and I also enjoyed most of them and the fried rice was quite good.
Overall, I was not very satisfied with the experience. Thats all from...
Read morePlace: situated at a corner f Indera Mahkota (City of crown) in Kuantan with an online google review of 4.8 stars after 1.4k customers have reviewed, what can go wrong right? WRONG!!! Their motto of where good food matters, should be scrapped and replaced with "IF good food matter, DON'T COME HERE!" Let's not mention the flies flying and bugging my dinner and the crawling bug that appeared on my spoon (which I can't prove by picture as I was too grossed out to even think of taking a picture). One of the few places where the rating is wayyyyy better than the actual food itself. Perhaps many of the people who review this place had never been to an actual BBQ restaurant that serves actual proper BBQ food. Try kyomo in Sri Hartamas for an example of BBQ restaurant.
Service: upon arrival here, we were greeted by an excellent waiter who immediately confirmed the booking made before hand before we even opened our mouths. Talk about mind reading!! Overall, good service was let down by terrible food here.
Food: BBQ all you can eat for RM68 per adult: well, the meat was not very fresh, but still ok. The seafood was not fresh at all...which was a disappointment to say the least, the clams were sandy (I know it's hard to control stuff like this, but hey, quality control should at least be enforced before sending the food out to customers, rite?...
Read moreVenturing into Let's Nabe Charcoal Grill n Hotpot turned out to be a gastronomic giggle, albeit for the wrong reasons. The RM205 bill for buffets for 2 adults and 1 senior citizen left my wallet lighter, but my taste buds feeling unfulfilled. Picture this - the steamboat was as flavorless as a bland mime, the BBQ meats sweeter than a cheesy rom-com, and the fish balls felt more like underwater hockey pucks than tender treats. As if that wasn't enough, the presence of flies in the restaurant added an unexpected touch of 'nature meets cuisine' to the mix.
To add sizzle to the disappointment, the snail-paced charcoal grill felt like waiting for a tortoise to finish a marathon, unlike the swift gas stove hot plates at other Korean restaurants.
Adding to the comedy of errors, the ice cream selection was a tale of disappearing acts, with the strawberry flavor pulling a vanishing act and the mint ice cream playing hard to scoop - quite the chilly challenge. To top it off, the cashier cum server's lackluster performance made me feel like I was part of a forgettable scene in a poorly scripted sitcom.
In conclusion, the dining misadventure at Let's Nabe Charcoal Grill n Hotpot fell flatter than a deflated soufflé. Let's just say, the only thing sizzling was my disappointment. It's safe to say I won't be casting a sequel reservation...
