Chieng Wang Cafe — Restaurant in Borneo

Nestled in the quaint neighbourhood of Hilltop lies a little known kopitiam call Chieng Wang cafe. It's operated by identical twin brothers who has several other cafes scattered around Miri. One thing I like about this cafe is the noodles which I believe are made by themselves. The noodles are not the typical curly types. They are more chewy, thicker and somehow taste fresher. In addition to the usual kolok or kampua mee, they also serve a lot of other dishes such as fried noodles, etc.

In the morning they have "you char kuey" which is a Chinese version of a fried churro. They are freshly made on the spot with a fluffy and crispy texture and a slightly salty taste which is nice. They are close to a foot long in length and not the tiny ones you would normally find at the market or other shops. It's great for dipping into a bowl of hot soup.

The place is clean, quiet and parking is not an issue. They have an air-con section which is nice for the warmer days and they do not charge extra for the use of this. I believe they are also...
