Hui Sing Open Air Hawker Centre in Kuching, Sarawak, is a vibrant culinary hotspot that captures the essence of local dining. This bustling hawker center features a variety of food stalls offering a diverse range of Malaysian and Chinese delicacies, making it a paradise for food lovers. The atmosphere is lively, filled with the enticing aromas of grilled meats, savory noodles, and sweet desserts, creating an inviting environment for both locals and tourists. One of the standout dishes here is the delicious pork satay, which consists of skewered and grilled marinated pork served with a rich peanut sauce for dipping. The smoky flavor from the grill perfectly complements the tender meat, making it a popular choice among visitors. Another must-try is the kolo mee, a simple yet flavorful noodle dish served with tender slices of pork and a dash of chili oil that adds an extra kick. The variety of choices ensures that there’s something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for something spicy or a comforting bowl of soup. Seating is plentiful but can get crowded during peak hours, especially in the evenings when families and friends gather to enjoy their meals together. Prices are incredibly affordable, making it easy to sample multiple dishes in one visit. Overall, Hui Sing Open Air Hawker Centre offers an authentic taste of Kuching's street food culture, and it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the rich flavors of Sarawak.

This place survives on nostalgia. Staples eats are not bad. Cheaper menu prices probably offset by low stall rents & overhead. Zilch atmosphere as it's completely flanked by the backside of worn out shop lots! I do get takeaways here. The clay pot stall on the furthest left is better than I've had elsewhere for rm11. A good portion for rm9 + rm3 of aubergines from another stall makes a decent meal. The salt-fish is not too salty but aromatic. Tender chicken & well judged rice are flavoursome in the combo. Chuck in the dark soy cili padi for fury is a good option. He seems passionate in making his signature dish. So far, 5 visits; his dish consistently delivers the taste of the 1st. He's open by 1-2pm. The Pau stall in the middle has the biggest Pau I've ever seen - liken a 3 in 1 job! I'll probably buy it for comedy effect one day. The satay looks like the real deal. I shall return for that too. Opening hrs of all the stalls would be around 2pm, and full-on @ 3pm, so I've been told. Service till midnight I presume, or till early sold-out.

Long established open air hawker centre that only operates in the evening. Quite a few stalls that are offering the usual local hawker food at affordable prices. The satay stall is a stand out here, and Ah Meng drinks stall was the one that started the white lady and metahone drinks way back when they were operating at Palm road. Sadly it seems to have its heydays as the crowds are less and they tend to close rather early these days. Which I think is more due to the dining trend of these days, as the hawkers here have always maintained their standards and quality of food.
