The service team except for the male supervisor/manager is very friendly and smiley. Menu prices are slightly cheaper than the more well known dim sum eateries in KK. However, their dim sums tasted mostly average. The shrimp dumplings and Shao Mai (燒賣) are alright. Some items are sub-standard: The deep fried egg dough coated with sugar (莎翁) was not fluffy at all, and the batter inside was still sticky and undercooked. We commented to the male supervisor/manager who tasted one of the pieces right at our table, then denied our remarks, walked away and expected us to still pay for it after eating one of the pieces. I find this act of service recovery funny and yet so ridiculous! I am a home cook myself, and I have tasted properly done 莎翁 in other restaurants as well as in Guangzhou & Hong Kong, and I can definitely tell when a batter is still raw. Their steamed beef balls were too starchy and lacked the taste of beef. Worcestershire sauce (喼汁) was not served with beef balls. The Ham Sui Gok (鹹水角) though crispy on the outside was too chewy and sticky on the inside apparently due to a very thick wrapping. The Chaozhou Fun Goa (潮州粉果) was stuffed with mostly shredded white radish that tasted more like 蘿蔔粿, it didn't have the essential ingredients like peanuts, chopped chives/bamboo shoots. Their pan-fried White Radish Cake (香煎蘿蔔糕) was served with mayonnaise which was a very weird and unpalatable...
Read moreAtmosphere not bad, quite packed when we went there during CNY day 5. Staff ok but the guy next to the cashier needs to get more training? You giving out number but then you did not wait for the person to respond and proceed to give out the seat for the next number. Went and ask the counter, the cashier look clueless and the guy next to her just said i called few times and nobody answer so we skip to next person. The place not huge and kinda impossible for us who waiting near the door to not hear it if it’s really FEW TIMES.
Food wise: Dim sum tastes okay. But it’ll be better if they can serve hot dim sum than warm dim sum. Fried part, too oily. Sugar fried puff oily, salad prawn oily and skin too thick. The salted egg custard barely can taste the salty part hmm
Overall okay, but customer service part?...
Read moreNew dimsum place in taman land breeze. Loved the steamed dimsum and cheong fun is great, thin skin is a rare find. They have beef variety of cheong fun which was pretty unique. Loved the food and am sure will draw large crowds in future. As their still new service had a few minor hiccups, dimsum served but no plates or chopsticks were given till we asked for it. Tables and seating are uncomfortable to sit with more than 2 people as the table legs get in the way. Hopefully they fix that when they...
