The Grounds Patisserie — Restaurant in Borneo

I've used The Grounds Catering for multiple events at my office and they have delivered outstanding service. Even my boss has asked me to reserve their menu for our special events only because it was that nice. The food was highly praised by our staff and Isabelle has always been very accommodating to me. She gave us complimentary food even though we had reached the maximum for our budget and she always responds to my messages quickly. Their professionalism clearly showed when the catering team arrived a day before to set up their catering equipment and they even helped to move the heavy tables when our staff weren't around to help. Very delicious menu and good service. The buffet decor was also beautiful.

As for the cafe, I've also dined there once for lunch and the food was delicious. We made a reservation beforehand and they brought out our food exactly on time. The only thing I have to complain about is the lack of parking as the cafe is essentially a house in a neighbourhood instead of a shop lot. During peak hours, it's really hard to find parking at that area and I always feel guilty double parking in front of a random person's house.

I hope their business will open up a second branch or a proper shop instead of in a residence so they can continue to grow and resolve the parking...

It's my first time dining in. We were greeted and asked if we had any reservations which we don't, but luckily there's one more small table for the two of us. So, it is recommended to book a reservation for both lunch and dinner.

We ordered Crunchy Spring Rolls, Salted Egg Fried Chicken, Grilled Cajun Chicken Aglio Oglio and Ham & Mushroom Carbonara Spaghetti.

Crunchy Spring roll, 7 out of 10, it was stuffed with potatoes and a lil bit of veggies, side with homemade chili sauce.

Salted Egg Fried Chicken, 9 out of 10, it's crispy and full of flavor.

Grilled Cajun Chicken Aglio Oglio, with sauteed cherry tomatoes and honey fungi, 8 out of 10, the spice is mild.

Ham Carbonara Spaghetti, with very creamy white sauce, hams mushroom and chili flakes, 8 out of 10.

The drinks that we ordered were the Cold Peach Gum, very nice and not sweet, 10 out of 10.

The waiting time is only 15 mins (do not sure if because we arrive there early). Overall experience is good, the staff are really friendly.

They sells cakes as well if you want to go there...

2025 reviews: This place never misses! 🫶🏼 Portions are huge, prices are fair, and the salted egg chicken rice is my forever love. We ordered butter chicken rice a safe order bc i know its good. We also decided to try something new from the menu which was the fried rice-OMG it slapped!! 😭🔥 We devoured it in seconds. Only flop was the lamb chop—kinda chewy, but the butter corn was the real sidekick.

p.s the staffs are friendly and accomodating. The place is vibrant and nicely decorated. The parking is a bit tough sooo good luck finding a spot near the busy road 😉

Overall, this place remains a favourite of mine, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try more. Just hoping the lamb gets a little more love next time! Still a...
