Cottiny Cafe (Korean Restaurant) — Restaurant in George Town

Saw good reviews and decided to have our dinner here, the taste is disappointing (makes me wonder about the review credibility). The fried chicken is made of chicken breast cubes and tasted too soft (like cheap nuggets with added flour), sundubu jigae is super bland to my surprise.

Not sure if the owners have QA on the food quality but hopefully they will improve on this because it has been awhile since I had food with this kind of quality especially in Penang.

I have only been here once. I ordered Kimchi friend rice, but it was unlike any other I have had before. The dish was sweeter than what I'm normally used to. And the rice was soggy, not dry. The owner (I assume) is very polite and respectful. But it is self service. The atmosphere is very quiet, with soft Kpop music in the back. I went at lunchtime, so maybe that's why it was quiet. If you're a fan of authentic Korean cuisine, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Despite being owned by a Korean, the kitchen is staffed by locals, and the dishes are lacking in authenticity. In particular, the seafood jiggae was overly watery and lacked depth of flavor, while the kimchi was not refillable.
