Javu — Restaurant in George Town

The ambience here is cozy and great, best to bring a book here and enjoy or to catch up with family and friends. The quality of food is good too. I've tried the barramundi fish with lemon butter sauce and pratha sandwich. The grilled fish is grilled to perfection and topped with lemon, garlic and sweet basil butter sauce which enhanced the fragrance of the grilled fish.I chose salad as a side dish(you're able to choose your own side dish and dressing) and they even served quality lettuce topped with cherry tomatoes, mushroom and ceasar sauce which surprised me as most of the restaurant I've been to only serve plain lettuce and cucumber. The taste of pratha sandwich was unforgettable for me as the creamy masala spinach, mushroom and parmesan cheese melted in my mouth, voilà ! I would suggest the coffee here as it is not sweet. Food is nice (if you order the right thing). I don't know if we just caught them on a bad night but we weren't given a menu when we arrived, half the menu wasnt available (all the good things like the sandwiches - it would have been helpful to tell us this when I asked for the menu). Once we did order it took 45 minutes for the food to come. 45 minutes for some breaded chicken/pork and chips is ridiculous. I asked the owner (?) if this was normal or if there was some problem and apparently there was no problem other than a few people ordering at the same time. He seemed to imply that this was our fault as my partner took our young kids over to the park while I ordered and I then had to call him as we hadn't known that a lot of the menu was not available. We'll probably get grab delivery of the sandwiches again as they're really nice but we won't be...

A Fine, Friendly, comfortable restaurant!! This is "new" (about 12 months old) restaurant-- which has recently expanded into the adjoining "shoppe lot". The ambitious menu is interesting, and we had 4 different, tasty, well prepared, entrees. The "Chicken Tagine" [origin: North Africa] was super/"yummy" as was the "chicken cordon blue". We also had a delicious, large salad and the deserts were as good as one can get at any top line restaurant. Perhaps what I liked most were the well trained staff as well as the "home like" atmosphere!! While it has not been reviewed by many on TripAdvisor, it is well reviewed on "Google Maps". A visit will be "rewarded by" a delicious and memorable gastronomic experience.
