Lost count of visits here, but still far from trying it all. Today’s picks: . Minced Pork Tofu – RM10 | Fried Rice – RM6 Fried rice is a steal—cheap, with solid wok hei. Only spotted egg inside. Minced pork tofu has a reddish tint—tomato? sweet sauce? Not sure. Pork’s on the light side, but for RM10, fair enough. . Stir-fry Choy Sum – RM8 | Curry Pork Knuckle – RM14 Choy sum used to be better—this round had too many stems. Standard inconsistent. Curry pork knuckle? Tender, soft, but odd. Just not our style. . Hot Lemon – RM3.30 | Dark Soy Milk Hot lemon costs more than Mixue—ouch. Dark soy milk, though, is the winner. My friend’s new obsession. . . Will we come visit again? Yes. Will we recommend to friends? We bring them. . . Follow for more no-nonsense food takes, JSE@20250731 . Today, we tried two completely new stalls—and both turned out to be pleasant surprises. . 🥬 Stir-Fried Choy Sum – RM8 Cooked by a friendly Vietnamese lady, the portion was generous and satisfying. What stood out? She added a little surprise: her homemade Vietnamese chili sauce—tangy, sweet, with just the right kick of heat. We loved it. . 🍗 Rice with Tom Yum Chicken Nugget – RM9 The moment it arrived, the aroma of tom yum hit us—sharp, spicy, appetizing. The flavor matched the scent—tasty and comforting. . We're definitely coming back to explore more dishes from these two stalls. Sometimes the best finds are the ones you never planned for. . . JSE@20250726 . Too Much Oil, Too Little Appeal . Today we tried: 🥩 Stir-Fry Pork with Leek & Rice – RM15 Not our cup of tea. Too oily for our liking. Won’t be ordering again. . 🍲 Fish Maw Pumpkin Drumstick Soup – RM10 Also overly oily. The taste didn’t sit well with us. Another skip for next round. . 🧋 Herbal Drink – (price not noted) Nothing special to mention. . . Sometimes, less oil would go a long way. JSE @20250711 . . Mee Hoon Kuih Duo – Familiar Comfort, Subtle Twist Today we ordered: 🍜 Mee Hoon Kuih Tom Yam – RM10 Same reliable taste as ever—spicy, thick, and satisfying. . 🍅 Mee Hoon Kuih Tomato – RM10 It’s been a while since we last tried this. Glad to report: it’s good. Nicely balanced—neither too sweet nor too sour. . . Consistent quality, worth coming back for.. JSE@202500603 . . Today we ordered: 🍜 Mee Hoon Kuih Tom Yam – RM10 x 2 bowls . Thick tom yam broth, generous portion of handmade noodles—surprisingly satisfying. . A solid choice for a comfort meal. Will definitely revisit! . . JSE@202500512 . . First visit to M2 since its rebranding from Ming Men. . The new management has clearly revamped the place—more stalls, wider variety, and a trendier vibe aimed at younger crowds. . Sadly, our first experience didn’t quite meet expectations. . 🍜 Prawn Cracker Noodles (RM7) We thought it was prawn noodle soup, but it turned out to be prawn cracker noodles. The soup was overly salty—we had to ask for plain broth to balance it out. . 🍲 Dry Mee Hoon Kuih (RM9) Famous stall, but the dish was overly sweet, likely due to too much sweet soy sauce. Disappointing for a noodle I usually love. I couldn’t finish it. . 🥬 Stir-Fry Cabbage (RM10) Crunchy, flavorful, and satisfying. The only dish we truly enjoyed. Would recommend. . 🍢 Hainan Daddy Satay (RM12.40 for 10 sticks) A big letdown. Despite the claim of natural ketupat, we were served nasi impit in plastic wrap—which we rejected and got refunded. The satay itself was dry and tough, with small portions. The sauce lacked the signature nutty flavor and felt watered down. . 🔚 Final thoughts: Only one out of four dishes hit the mark. Might give M2 another shot to try other stalls—but this visit didn’t leave a great...

Read moreWent there for a quick supper so we couldn't order too much. The prawn noodle is a heaven made to me. It's been long that I didn't and couldn't find a decent prawn noodle around Malacca but this really came as a sweet surprise to me. Kinda like the setup of this food court, table to table gaps are spacious enough though we are already in endemic phase. Price wise it can get a bit expensive than others but as long as the quality of food is good I'm sure a lot of ppl don't mind paying the little extra. One thing that I observed can be further improved is the speed of the crew to clean the tables after customers left. Not sure if this is usually faster during peak hours or not but it was slow on the day I visited, in fact we were forced to push empty cans and glasses to the side of the table so we can get a seat. Hope to see this can be further improved on...
