Today is the 5th day of Lunar New Year 23 and my happy happy mood changed to angry mood when I wanted to ask for one of the vacant table for my family of 8. My waiting number is 6. I understood that we need to wait for seating and those with smaller number of diners will be seated sooner than my family as the shop just started business after CNY. After sometime, 2 tables in front of me paid their bills and cardholder number 8 with 7 diners was very quick and got 1 table so I approached next to ask politely whether my family of 8 inclusive a baby can have the other table. Before I could finish my sentence, the staff was at the registering table looked up at me with a "black face", got irritated gave out a small sigh of irritation then pointing at the vacant table which I wanted to ask from the moment I saw, said angrily with a snarl " This table can or not?" My endocrine shot up, I can't take rude attitude when I asked politely. I told him that he don't have to answer rudely. I told him that I was angry at his attitude and it wasn't for the waiting. He then sort of "punish" me by ignoring me, leaving me standing by the table. So I tried to find chairs and cutlery to make up the table. All chairs taken so again I asked him for some chairs and to set the table for me . He shouted back to me , "You have to wait and if you can't wait why don't go elsewhere, everyone's temper got a limit. Your people not here yet so I will get the chairs later." I told him that my family were outside already. He even said loudly that he wasn't in a good mood and I make it worst. He even stopped his colleague who wanted to send dumplings to my table. I called the boss and told him what the meaning of that staff stopping another to serve my table. That staff defended himself by nagging aloud to diners and even to my son that I am not patience and want everything fast. The boss was around during the argument and he heard his staff chasing me away but he didn't do anything. The boss is a timid man , he kept quiet all the while but after my son paid the bill the boss said sorry softly with a humble nod which I think...

A Traditional Dimsum Spot in Melaka — Modern Kopitiam Vibes, Authentic Flavours
If you're craving a good dimsum breakfast in Melaka, this traditional 点心 (dimsum) restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Set up in a modern kopitiam style, the space is clean, spacious, and well-ventilated — no stuffy, crowded atmosphere here. It’s a refreshing change from the usual tightly packed dimsum joints.
The 点心 selection here is quite standard but done right — think 大包、小包 (meat buns, red bean, char siew, etc.), 蝦球 (shrimp balls), 烧賣 (siew mai), 粥 (congee), and more. What makes them stand out is the quality: everything tastes above average and is clearly made with fresh ingredients.
One thing to note: if you come around 12:30 AM or later, don’t be surprised if many items are already sold out. The shop sticks firmly to their principle of not keeping any leftover dimsum for the next day — fresh is best.
A personal favourite is their 大包 — it’s filled with soft, flavorful meat in a peppery black soy sauce base. The bun skin is soft yet strong enough to hold the generous filling without falling apart.
Service is fast and friendly. Most of the staff are from Myanmar, and they’re impressively well-trained and professional.
Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. And if you’re a teh lover, their teh si is surprisingly fantastic — smooth, fragrant, and well-balanced.
Overall, it’s a solid spot for a dimsum fix in Melaka — traditional taste in a comfortable,...
