I recently visited the durian stall, and I must say that the seller was quite honest and approachable. He was upfront about the different types of durians available and helped me choose the one that seemed best. However, I have mixed feelings about my experience overall.
While the seller's honesty was a plus, I was disappointed with the recommended "higher" quality Musang King (MSW) durian I purchased. Having tasted some amazing MSW durians in Singapore, I was excited to try them here in JB. Unfortunately, the ones I got were not up to par. The texture was a bit off, and the taste wasn't as rich and flavorful as I had hoped for.
Additionally, the pricing at this stall is far from cheaper than in SG. I understand that good quality durians can be pricey, but the combination of the underwhelming taste and the higher cost left me quite unsatisfied. It's essential to get what you pay for, and in this case, I felt like the value just wasn't there.
All in all, while I value the seller's honesty, the overall experience fell short due to the quality of the durian and the pricing. If you're looking for top-notch Musang King durian, you might want to explore other options, especially if you've had the pleasure of indulging in the ones...
Read moreDishonest Durian Seller! Buy at your own risk! We drove in from Singapore, reached at 5pm and the queue is slowly building up. They have a few prices for the durian, 10kg for 298, 10kg for 400, 10kg for 500. We ordered the 10kg for 400ringgit. We joined the queue for packing the durian and this man ( AH HU ) that served us is extremely horrible! His attitude is rude to the max! There is this customer’s durian upon opening up, there isn’t any durian flesh inside! So the cus ask him is there any compensation politely? He replied u pay 400 for 10kg so this is the quality! You want more durian then u pay more!! What kind of reply is this??? I got a shocked. Later part when it is my turn for the packing, our 7 durians was packed into 7 boxes, and upon wrapping, he actually return us only 6boxes! We told him that he has misplaced 1 box but fiercely he argued is 6 and ask me to check cctv. I approached the management staff and after checking she claimed that the video angle is not able to show the whole table but she think is 6 boxes too! Honestly, no matter how good the durian is, I will never go back to this place again....
Read moreThis is my third time having durian in JB, and this place is by far the most recommended and enjoyable experience.
Parking is easy, and the prices for each durian type are clearly displayed. Every corner has a staff member on duty — they’re patient and professional when opening the durians. They let us taste first, and if we like it, we can add it to our trolley or head straight to the payment counter.
We also bought mangosteens — they were super fresh and juicy! Tried the coconut water too — large and worth the price, although it wasn’t as sweet as usual.
The dining area is clean and spacious, with big fans for ventilation. Tables are well-maintained and tidy. Overall, the experience was very comfortable and enjoyable.
We tried Kunyit and Mao Shan Wang durians from Pahang — rich, creamy, and full of flavor. We spent around RM400 for two durians. Not sure if that's considered reasonable in JB, but we were happy with the quality.
They also sell rambutans and other fruits, with air-tight packaging available for takeaway. Definitely coming back for the durians and...
