We visited 友记烧腊之家 (You Kee Siobak) in Skudai for a no-frills Cantonese roast meat lunch, and it absolutely hit the spot. This is classic, coffee shop-style roasted goodness—nothing fancy, just solid, flavorful food.
The roast duck was juicy with crispy skin, and the char siew had that perfect caramelized edge with a nice balance of lean and fatty cuts. The siu yuk (crispy pork belly) stole the show with its crunchy skin and tender, well-seasoned layers. Everything was served on rice with a light soy-based gravy that tied it all together.
