The Food Truck arrives at around 7-715pm. They sometime get there a tinge earlier.
Get there early if you want to be comfortable and get a seat. Otherwise past experience, will see long queues at least 10-12 pax deep if the crowds are kind. Tables have to clear before the next customer can sit.
The whole experience can be different either waiting or sitting enjoying your food.
They serve 3 Ramen types.
The Original Tonkatsu Broth The Black Tonkatsu Broth The Spicy Tonkatsu Broth
My personal favourite will be the original Tonkatsu Broth as it is flavourful and intense. The Char Shu that comes with these Ramen are well done and a healthy Chunky piece. Not the ones sliced so thinly that you can’t even taste it’s wholesomeness !! A nicely seasoned onsen egg and a big decent flaky seaweed on the side.
All three Ramen types have Cha Shu , Onsen Egg and the Seaweed.
The Broth does not leave a dry taste of other ramen outlets where possibly MSG were used in larger amounts. So slurp it up!!!
The Black Tonkatsu Broth is also another winner for me as it’s base seems to the same Original broth but it is infused with a “charcoal/black ink” oil. The black Tonkatsu broth is slightly more intense in flavour. Customers with stringer palate may prefer this.
The chilli Tonkatsu is the third which adds the extra uuummmppphhhh with chilli paste. The chilli paste seems to be a shrimp sambal fusion which adds something different to the Ramen. This chilli gives this ramen a little more “saltiness” not significantly but in case it matters to you.
Try all three to decide what’s best for you.
The Yakitori sticks are also prepared and chargrilled to perfection. 7 different types and everyone is worth a try.
Perfectly Lathered in the teriyaki sauce after grilling gives it a nice tinge of sweetness. The slight chargrill of the meats and vegetables are just nice giving it the hint of burnt bits which is not over powering. It’s enough to give you the nice umami taste without it...

Couldn’t be happier eating Ramen by the roadside - and this ramen was pretty good! The flavour of the Tonkotsu - pork broth - was tasty and had a gentle presence to the broth, which paired rather nicely with the robust and intensely flavoured pork slices (which were literally falling apart soft) I had the Plain, no spice tonkotsu ramen which suited me fine. The spicy tonkotsu ramen was too spicy for my husband (I guess this level of spice is for Malaysians used to a fiery blast to the tongue, but it was tasty anyway!)
Also ordered their Yakitori, and chose smoked duck, chicken and the bacon-wrapped enoki mushrooms. They went quite nicely with the ramen.
Only bottled drinks available in an ice chest where you pick the drink of your choice - we saw chrysanthemum, jasmine tea, Lohan Guo, peach drink ….

Read moreChanced upon this food cart near my hotel that serves Japanese ramen and izakaya. Although their opening time stated 7pm, their food truck arrives slightly after but the queue can seen formed while the guys were setting up. Shortly after, the staff starting taking people's order. Managed to got myself near the foodtruck.
Ordered the original tongkatsu ramen and 3 different skewers and a drink, paid MYR$27 for my meal. Food came shortly after, the Ramen can with the ramen egg, sliced japanese fishcake, shredded woodear mushroom and generous chunk of charsiu. Noodle was nicely cooked and the soup was flavorful. Skewers were great as well, the tamago with mentiako sauce was good so was the pork. The sauce for the pork and chicken was a little sweet.
Overall, value for money for me. Would be back to try the other ramens...
