Having experienced Arab Cuisine around the world over the span of almost 50 years, I can only comclude that this restaraunt stands out as one of the best Arab Restaraunts.
The highlight of Restoran Cairo is its selection of meats, particularly their lamb dishes, which burst with a cornucopia of flavors which is both juicy and tender with the right amount of searing to enhance its taste. The lamb here is truly exceptional and a must-try for meat lovers.
One of their standout dishes is the Kofta, available in both beef and lamb options served with Arabic Flatbread. These savory sausages are incredibly delicious and satisfying.
For the less adventurous, the Chicken Mendi is highly recommended. It is prepared with great care and leaves a lasting impression on your taste buds.
If you prefer a lighter meal, their Lamb or Beef Shawarma is a fantastic choice. The meat slices combined with fresh salad, wrapped in bread, create a satisfying and flavorful meal. Additionally, Restoran Cairo also offers a variety of delectable pizzas.
However, the ultimate dish that sets Restoran Cairo apart is the Mendi Lamb Tagine. It consists of Mendi Rice (best quality long grain Basmati rice) and imported Lamb cooked in a clay pot, resulting in the meat flavors permeanating into the rice. For an unforgettable experience, you can request for an upgrade of the lamb to a Lamb Rib, which takes the dish to a whole new level.
In addition to their traditional specialties, Restoran Cairo also provides a customized menu that caters to both Arabic and Western tastes. From Beef Stroganoff to Fillet Mignon with freshly made Bearnaise Sauce, they offer a range of options. However, it is advisable to place an early order for items not listed on the menu.

Read moreWe visited this restaurant recently, with the hopes of experiencing some of much talked about features and food. There wasn't any proper parking available, as it was by a intersection; we hoped to make up for that difficulty with some good food. Our orders were taken swiftly. I was a bit disappointed that a lot of dishes were not available. The waitress for some reason kept trying to speak in English, though I spoke fluent Malay with her. An order of hot drinks arrived reasonably, but the wait for the food.... We sat around for 52 minutes. A family of 5 made their order, a few minutes before us and even they were enjoying their full meals served in good time. Others who arrived AFTER us had their meals served. So everybody in the restaurant were enjoying their meals except for the two of us. We were highly disappointed, and informed the staff that were leaving and the owner arrived at that time, he made quick enquiries with the kitchen, and said our meals are almost ready and that it'll only take another 10 minutes or so. We were done waiting. So they packed the food that we were already put off with and the owner wanted to give us a small discount which I declined as I was very disappointed and really didn't want anything from them. The owner claimed that the dish that we ordered takes 20 minutes to prepare. Think we can all do maths and we know that's not why we were kept waiting for 52 minutes. He told the waitress that she should have told us about timing, etc. She didn't apologise to us. Just went on with her duties. He apologised, but I think the service failure was already a bit too pronounced to be brushed off with "very sorry". Won't be visiting ever, thats confirmed. Good luck in attracting a diverse range of customers with such staff and...
Read moreA Quiet Afternoon of Green Tea & Reflection at Cairo Elarab
Last Sunday, I stopped by Cairo Elarab in the afternoon looking for a quiet moment — and I found exactly that.
The decor is absolutely lovely. It has a warm, Middle Eastern vibe with thoughtful details that make you feel like you're stepping into another world. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, perfect for some solo time or a relaxed catch-up with friends.
I only had a few drinks — a soothing green tea and a refreshing orange drink, both were nicely made and complemented the peaceful setting.
Even though I didn’t stay long or try the full menu, it felt like a special little escape. Definitely a spot I’ll return to when I want to unwind and enjoy a bit of cultural charm.
Recommended for: A quiet afternoon, tea lovers,...
