We always went to the Chinese restaurants when we went to desaru.this time we decided to try Malay restaurant . The restaurant Was busy when we got there . 4adults+1baby. Small lobster was expensive I would say as I came from a seafood village itself so pretty much I know the price of seafood.we ordered fish/sotong/kailan/mee basah/satay/tofu.... Waited for one hour ,food came one by one,the gap is more than 10-15min . Means after 45min to one hour waiting, the veg came ,we waited for 10min to get a sotong, another 10min for mee, another 15 min for fish . Satay and tofu never showed up until the end of the meals .The food went cold , while another table came after us and they had their food before us . siakap fish had an obvious mud smell (as I say maybe I'm from a seafood town so I can taste the difference of the fish),but the cooking is good to be honest . the restaurant can't handle the heavy load . Employees were slow in order ( as they looks tired which I could understand),even difficult to get another pair of Cuttery for my baby.we didn't show our anger anyway since we came with holiday mood and didn't wanna spoil it(we need to grab something from family mart after the restaurant 🤣). But my husband did tell the cashier that we didn't get our food. Probably last time we...
Read moreWe planned to eat local seafood for dinner during our trip to Desaru and found this restaurant with really good ratings on Google. The reviews were promising, so we decided to give it a try and it absolutely did not disappoint!
The restaurant offers plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor, so you can choose your preferred dining style. We went on a Thursday evening around 6 PM, and surprisingly, it wasn’t crowded at all, which made the whole experience even more relaxing and enjoyable.
What really caught our attention was how clean and proper the restaurant was. It exceeded our expectations for a local seafood place. The moment you walk in, you’ll know exactly what I mean. The environment was neat, well organized and comfortable.
We ordered Ikan Siakap 3 Rasa, Udang Nestum, Kailan Ikan Masin and Omelette. Every dish was cooked to perfection but the Siakap 3 Rasa was the star of the show. The flavours were just right. Sweet, spicy and tangy all in one bite.
If you’re in Desaru and love seafood, this place is a must visit. Everything we had was delicious, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend it!
In fact, I loved it so much, I’m already planning to return this weekend. Can’t wait to eat...
Read moreD'laksamana? More like D'LALATsamana.
A typical entry-level Malaysian roadside makan place, the food at D'laksamana is fine (although I would not rate it past 3 stars). Its cleanliness isn't the greatest, but passable. There are plenty of options on the menu, including satay, ikan bakar and otak otak. The nasi sotong goreng kunyit was actually really tasty, and saved me from giving this a rock bottom one star review. Service is fast but, again, not exactly the greatest.
Unfortunately, the real sticking point is that D'laksamana suffers from a terrible infestation of flies.
Little lalat friends are everywhere and they land on EVERYTHING while you are trying to eat. Your straw? Hope you weren't using that to drink your air kelapa. Your food? Well, I'm sure you didn't want that cauliflower anyway.
Are they doing anything about the fly problem? Who knows. D'laksamana has dozens of fans cranked up to maximum to try to keep the cloud of insistent flies off your teh ais and satay. But given my experience there tonight, I'd say a serious re-think of their pest control strategy is in order.
