Recommended by a friend for this western food restaurant. Was told that they decorate the entire restaurant during the christmas festive season. Lo' and behold when I stepped in, the entire interior was fully decorated. My, it truly had the festive feels going on in there. Super loved all the decorations around. They even placed mini christmas tree with lights on each and every dining table. My wife and I got there at 6pm without a reservation on a tuesday evening, the place was empty. There are 2 dining areas, one for those with reservation while the other is for those without. There are also a few tables outside like alfresco style dining. We shared these food between the both of us. Mushroom Soup, Battered Calamari, Aglio Olio, Roast Garlic Lamb, Apple Crumble Pie w Vanilla Ice Cream. For drinks we had the Pink Lemonade Soda and a pint of Guiness Stout (Happy Hour 3pm-7pm daily). We both enjoyed all the food. None were below expectations, they all far exceeded. The soup is thick and creamy. Calamari is well-fried complimented by a siracha mayo sauce, superb! Pasta is flavourful, not very spicy kind. Roasted lamb is tender and no gamey smell, the mashed potatoes and vegetables were good too. Last but least, the dessert which was recommended by the staff is truly delicious. Warm apple crumble with ice cream is just heavenly. I really liked the crust of the crumble. Overall dining experience is truly amazing. Service staff were polite and friendly. Efficient in their work, kudos to them. Will definitely visit again!

Read good reviews about this place & decided to try on New Year day. We were early for dinner around 6pm. There were less than 5 tables of customers. Beautiful interior decor and food quality was good. We ordered grilled lamb rack (RM48.80) and grilled salmon with cream cheese (RM48.80) with a pot of camomile tea (RM15) for the 2 of us to share. Burnt cheese cake (RM14.80) was fantastic, but the blueberry cheese cake (RM14.80) was just okay. Final bill was RM150++ after GST for two of us. Staff were friendly and served with a smile but less attentive and lack of initiative as we were not informed about the special menu while staff taking our order. Wrong order (chicken popcorn) was sent to our table. Luckily, we knew what we ordered. This place is suppose to be good for steak with price range of RM88++ (sirloin) to RM98++ (fillet mignon) based on other reviews. Overall, we are still happy with the meal despite room for improvement in term of service. We may consider coming back for weekday set lunch that is good value for money. It is indeed a nice place for special occasions, family outings or even business meetings.

I was introduced by a friend to this place. I was told the food was as good as it’s interior. It truly was. I had a hard time understanding what encourages the staff that were working to be so passionate about their service. It’s the small things: eye contact to all guests when asking if everything has arrived, not interrupting the customers in a middle of conversations, heartily singing birthday songs to each customer(heard it 3x during the meal and each time with so much heart). The meal(pictures) was so good, as we ended the night with a Guinness Cake. The decor was legit, and you feel like you’re in Far Far Away, in the Shrek movies 🤗 was waiting for Fiona or Lord Farquhar to pop out during the meal but to our disappointment 😅🤣 Cheers to the team. I complimented them on their service because I felt they needed to personally hear it. Keep up the good work because it’s probably the reason why people come back, choosing to celebrate their important milestones in life in your place. Question: can customers ring the bell too if they felt they had a good time in your premises? ☺️

The high regard for which I hold the George and Dragon is illustrated by the fact I attended 3 times during a trip to Malaysia recently: twice to the JB branch and once to the JPO one. The staff were extremely attentive to my party of 3 and myself throughout each of our visits, which I felt was impressive, particularly as the restaurants were on each occasion very busy (but not uncomfortably so!). I had a range of food on my several visits, including spaghetti bolognese and pizza, which were both very good and well presented. What I would particularly recommend is the steak, which I had medium rare, which was served with a range of impeccable sides. The charming decoration and fit-out of the restaurants helped contribute to the wonderful, cosy atmosphere, which I felt was reminiscent of a traditional English pub. I will certainly be returning in any future trips to JB.

This is such a wonderful place to be at. It’s quiet and so peaceful, there’s soothing music playing in the background, the staff are very attentive, clean and friendly. The food and hygiene is top notch! Serves classic English, European cuisine with a large selection of good quality (abso-freakin-lutely delicious) cakes (one could order a whole cake for a party a couple of days in advance) and scones are evenly clotted with butter and strawberry jam. (Recommended for those who would enjoy a delightful English style tea). There’s weekday lunch sets between 12:00 to 2:30pm and monthly roast every first weekend of the month. There’s variety of beverage on tap and cocktails too. Would highly recommend this restaurant in JB. Please follow “George and Dragon Cafe” on Insta & Facebook for latest updates.

Its my 3rd time here. This is my fav spot/cafe to go in JB! Love their food a lot, very solid, big portion with reasonable price. Their sirloin/ ribeye steak is my fav! The fries were very tasty too. Also, personally love their ceasar salad + desserts. Their cakes were not too sweet, just nice. I would strongly recommend their apple crumble pie. + they offer singing songs for birthday too. Love the staffs there a lot. Always approaching the customers in a friendly and welcoming way 🫶🏻 9/10! Reviewing it cuz i genuinely love this place and it felt to bad to gatekeep this! Do give this cafe a try ;)
