Read moreA Mixed Experience at 7-Spice Restaurant: Clean Atmosphere, But Cold Main Dishes and Lackluster Masala Spice
I recently had the opportunity to dine at 7-Spice Restaurant in JB, and while the overall atmosphere was clean and pleasant compared to some other indian restaurants, but my experience with the main dishes left much to be desired. On the positive side, the starters were truly impressive, showcasing the culinary skills of the kitchen.
The moment I stepped into 7-Spice Restaurant, I was greeted by a clean and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's interior was well-maintained, with a modern and sophisticated ambiance that made for an enjoyable dining experience. The staff were attentive and courteous, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the restaurant. The special lassi was very refreshing and delicious for the start. The starters were a standout. They were flavorful, well-prepared, and a true testament to the culinary expertise of the kitchen
However, despite the promising start, I was disappointed with the main dishes. Sadly, they were served cold, which greatly affected the overall taste and enjoyment of the meal. The lack of warmth in the dishes made it difficult to fully appreciate the flavors and textures that should have been present. It was a letdown, as I had expected the dishes to be served at an appropriate temperature. Biriyani one of the major main course of Indian cuisine, it was not upto a restaurant standard!
Furthermore, while the restaurant claims to specialize in Indian cuisine, I found the masala spice in the dishes to be lacking in comparison to authentic Indian flavors. The masala spice failed to reach the standard one would expect from Indian dishes, leaving me underwhelmed. It is essential for a restaurant that claims to offer Indian cuisine to ensure that the spices used are authentic and well-balanced.
Despite these shortcomings, The appetizers were a delightful introduction to the meal and left me hopeful for an equally satisfying main course. The tea we had at last was not bad tho.
In conclusion, while 7-Spice Restaurant in JB offers a clean and inviting atmosphere, my experience with the main dishes was disappointing. The cold serving temperature and lackluster masala spice were significant drawbacks that affected the overall enjoyment of the meal. However, the impressive starters showcased the restaurant's potential. With improvements in the main course, 7-Spice Restaurant has the potential to provide a more satisfying...
Read moreMy friends and I were excited about patronizing this restaurant since review from a friend had been good.
Once we settled down, the waiter attending to us introduced the menu , after which we placed our order.
We had ordered the spicy fish, which is a must try. It was the sambal version and it was simply shiok with its spiciness. Prawns, pepper chicken, lamb curry were also ordered. The food served was delicious. This is the most I can share abt the food since the experience we had was marred by the attitude and irksome behaviour of a particular waiter ( or was he a manager) whom we didn't manage to get the name of.
Even before our meals were served, the waiter who had attended to us earlier ,served us the tandoori platter which we did not order. When we explained to him very politely that we had not ordered it, he insisted we did. Very politely, we remarked that we knew clearly well we could not finish this platter since we had an array of dishes already. For a good two to three minutes, the platter lay on our table with the waiter shooting imposing looks at us. We were clueless as to what we shud do but we continued being polite and reminded we had not ordered the platter. Knowing that we weren't going to accept the food that we had not ordered, the waiter finally cleared the table. What took him so long to rectify the situation we totally had no inkling of. All we knew was that we could not relish the food that was served after that. Till the end, there was no apology made. While we could accept n understand that it could have been a mistake made, what we couldn't understand was the purpose of the imposing look which lasted for a gd few minutes and caused tension to pervade in the air
It would indeed have been a more pleasant experience if only the waiter had exhibited better demeanour. Moreover, it was our last stop after a tiring day. Leaving the restaurant with a heavy heart after what was supposed to be a hearty meal was totally...
