Hung Kitchen — Restaurant in Johor

First time visit but with a little bit disappointment. Limited public parking space outside. Atmosphere was clean and refreshing, very kampung style seating. No air-conditioning but still very cool with lots of fans surrounding the tables. Ordering was not friendly as the self order chit was difficult to understand at first. When a lady came and took our order, she was very rushed and impatient. I ordered Crispy chicken chop w/ fries & black pepper sauce, but came "GRILLED" chicken chop. After discussing with the lady that took our order, she immediately bring to the back and change. Telling me it'll need to wait. I need to say they the fries 🍟 given was really less, around 10 pieces or so. When I got my "CORRECTED" order, it came "Crispy chicken chop", but with the wrong carbs and sauce, they made fried rice and mushroom sauce which was totally different from what I ordered. I have given up on changing my order the 2nd time and just make do with it.

I want to give a 1 Star ⭐ but seeing as it's a restaurant manage my elderlies, I can just say hopefully the next visit the ordering system...

We had:- Grilled chicken chop fries and mushroom sauce Fried chicken chop fries and black pepper sauce Roast chicken leg with rice and mushroom sauce

Compared to a lot of high end western restaurants, the sauces here definitely hits the spot. Could really feel the chef has put in his soul and heart into the sauces and they try their best in serving the dishes to their customers.

Honorary mention was the fried rice that came with the roast chicken leg. Reminded me of my childhood so much albeit it was just a very simple side dish.

This is really SOUL FOOD 👍

To note, please be patient to the old uncle and aunties taking orders, it could get really overwhelming for them during busy...

Order is via a tick box menu. Someone will pick up the order and chit and serve. During off peak, it is relatively fast, within 10 minutes. You can an option of fries or fried rice.

Freshly made coleslaw with a lovely crunch. Fries are faultless with a crispy bite.

The deep fried chicken chop is huge almost size of my 2 palms. Breaded with a hint of biscuity fragrance. There is no hint of oiliness.
