Lotus Spices — Restaurant in Johor

Had to DIY our KBBQ and the fire was very mild, wanted to ask them to help us to bbq but they said they were busy. I was alright with that, but i saw them just standing around and talking, not even busy at all.

Whats worse was the fact we had to cook over charcoal and when we cooked the octopus some were touching the charcoal. I asked them if we could switch the heating element to something easier to manage (like the table next to is who was cooking chicken over a metal plate over a stove) but they say we had to use this stove.

Food had barely any seasoning and it was not worth at all given we had to cook everything ourselves, they can literally just give is the thawed ingredients and thats it.

Service was so bad there were times we were ignored because we asked too many things (which were basic necessities)

I recently tried their Vegetarian Thali set and was impressed by the delicious array of mostly vegan dishes, served with impeccable presentation. The mix of spicy, savory, and sweet mini dishes was a treat for the taste buds, and I couldn't resist complementing it with the flavorful Paneer 65. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyment. With reasonable pricing at RM 80 for two sets of Vege thali and one Paneer 65, it's a great value for money. Food is good but too oily. Ambience is way too good. Lots of space to dine in and services are polite and great.

Every dish is made with more than enough oil to kill your appetite in few mins. Should avoid too much of oil so that they can attract more repeat customers.

Onion Dosai, Masala Dosai, Egg Masala, Egg Biryani, Egg Poriyal, Garlic naans are the ones we tried but the cherry on the top is the kulfi. It is a home made kulfi as they marketed and it has come with good taste. we enjoyed the kulfi more than the food.
