Located inside Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa. A huge place that has buggy around the resort and this resort has so many restaurants like Korean, Seafood, Indian food and Starbucks too.
We came here as saw recommendations for Rhu Seafood and the kids left with a big smile on the face as they get to join the activities after dinner at this resort. Dancing and blowing bubbles and also playing arcade games.
This resort is a great destination for a 3-days 2night family getaway, offering a wide range of facilities and activities all within the property.
Lotus Desaru is an ideal place for those who prefer not to drive out during their stay. However, the room setup felt more like a hostel and did not quite meet our preferences, which is why we ultimately decided not to stay instead and paid more for our 3d2nights.
Food was huge portion even for small size and price that we paid was reasonable @ RM 147.30 for 2adults 1 children
We had:-
Squid panggang with sauce @ RM 35.00 Prawn Omelette @ RM 20.10 Claypot Beancurd @ RM 21.50 Thai Spicy Chicken @ RM 27.50 Steamed Rice @ RM 3.50 each plate Apple juice @ RM 15.90 Chrysanthemum Tea @ RM 12.00 per pot
Food was good especially the squid and spicy chicken. Would prefer my chicken not fried like Chinese style cooking though.
Service was slightly slower than usual most likely due to the crowd on busy Saturday night. However, the atmosphere was uplifted by a live band performance starting around 8pm featuring nostalgic selection of English hits from the era of 80s and 90s.
Recommended place to come for dinner @ Desaru and they served alcoholic drinks like beer...
Read moreWhen we arrived at the restaurant, we were directed to the outdoor section of the restaurant, which was full of mosquitoes as it was night time. This was fine, however, as the indoor section of the restaurant was full at the time; however even the lighting of the indoor section of the restaurant was quite dim. While we were deciding on what to order, a server served us coconuts even though we hadn't begun ordering yet. After we did order, servers continued to serve us dishes that we did not order. Several other tables near us also experienced this issue. Nevertheless, we were eventually served all the dishes (except satay, which we eventually cancelled because it never came) that we ordered, which on average tasted okay/good, except the prawns, which were bad. While pricing for food seemed okay, charging RM 15.90 for a glass of apple juice (or even just a coconut) seems like a tourist trap. Even a glass of Milo is RM 12.90...
Overall, it's an okay restaurant featuring live music with good food. If you plan to eat here, come during lunch time (when the lighting is much better), but stay clear of the overpriced drinks. Do order fish though (we had snapper);...

I managed to try a good and affordable seafood restaurant in Desaru. A tip is to go for size small (even when they say it won’t be enough because their sizes are huge ok 😂).
Here’s what I’ve tried:
Nasi Goreng Belacan (RM33 size M) - The size tho 🔥 // Flavours are there, it’s mildly spicy (just nice tbh) and pretty addictive.
Sotong Salted Egg (RM35 size S) - Wah, not too chewy, creamy and the salted egg flavour, beautiful. I really enjoy the snappy texture and balance flavours.
Nestum Fresh King Prawns (RM47 size S) - Definitely fresh and for the price and size of each prawns, super worth it. You can’t go wrong with nestum and fresh prawns.
Butter Chicken (RM27.50 size S) - The flavours are on point with the right level of creaminess, flavour and fragrant. Chicken was juicy as well.
Watermelon Juice Tower (I forgot 😭) - It was so worth it tho. Fresh watermelon juice on a sunny beachy weather, not watered down; absolutely lovely.
