Arrived on Sunday 11th Dec 2016 at 1.27pm. Joined the queue which stretched from the shop, under the open sun, to the seating areas. The queue was for those who chose to eat in. Somehow, the shop owners allows those who want to buy to takeaway to skip the queues and go straight in to order and pick up. Not fair to those who queue. After about 10 minutes queuing with my kid, got to the halfway point where all those in the queue were told that all food was finished. This is the sign of a successful local business in the country, unlike the businesses run by 'pendatangs', they don't care about having enough supply to satisfy the demand. They said the food was enough until the person in front of me. I have no idea which scientific method they used to determine that because none of us in line told the shop our orders. Eventually I managed to snag the last piece of chicken even though I wanted good ol' briyani kambing. I drove all the way from Johor Bahru for this disappointment. I will never bother to return no matter how good the food is, because I tasted terrible service in my mouth.

Year in year out the taste never change. The best nasi briyani so far . So said it is famous in Batu Pahat but in actual fact it is famous all over the world! People like me are just a bunch of foodspa people that ever willing to drive hundreds of miles just to eat May Shah’s briyani. My favourite are the lamb but the chicken briyani are delicious too. A must eat kinda meal . It never disappoints me . Must pre warn that the queue can long so be patient ya. But it is worthwhile . Lamb briyani is RM10/plate which for me can be shared by two person . Chicken briyani RM8/plate. Must eat with the acar buah & dalca. They had moved to a new area just next to the old outlet. Open daily but every Friday they are close.

Nasi Beriani Mohd Shah is a Malaysian food icon - ready to serve the masses at 8am, you can even have their signature beriani for breakfast! They only sell 2 dishes here, one is chicken beriani, and the other mutton beriani. Their beriani is really delicious, and are well worth the long travel from KL or JB. The portion of their beriani is quite large and the prices are reasonable. Do get their mutton beriani if you can eat it, as I feel it is more delicious, but their chicken is pretty good too. Highly recommended!

6 of us went to have Nasi Beriani Mohd Shah. The lamb Beriani is good but lots of bone compare to meat and expensive too, compared to 2 years ago. The Chicken Beriani is fairly good. Nowadays only Rice, meat & gravy and dalca gravy given, no more cucumber pineapple salad. A very long queue on both takeaway and dine-in lane.

Again on 9/7/2023, went to Nasi Beriani Md Esa(Mohd Shah), RM10 for chicken and RM12 for mutton, 15 of us had Beriani, and none of us were happy with the meat portion..chicken too small piece and mutton piece undercooked and only bones..The service is ok but the meal is no more to the former standard and glory..A very unsatisfactory experience having the beriani...
