The Toast 土司坊 @ Permas — Restaurant in Johor

We had lunch at this restaurant today and were quite disappointed with the experience. We placed our order through their in-house app, which was still showing an "18th Anniversary Promotion" — order any main course and get a selected beverage for only RM1.80.

However, the app did not allow us to skip the beverage option, so we were forced to order it, even though we usually don’t take drinks for takeaway. Since it was part of the promotion, we didn’t mind at first.

After finishing our meal, we were told at the cashier that the promotion had already ended and that it was a "system problem." We were charged the full price for the beverages with no apology or explanation. What made it worse was that they seemed aware of the issue, yet didn’t bother to update their app or inform customers beforehand. The customer before us also questioned the same issue.

Although it was just a small difference in price, this kind of misleading practice feels dishonest. We hope the management takes this seriously and improves both the system and customer service...

I came here with my group of friends after seeing review in tik tok. The only good thing the food came quite fast, we ordered few items. Nasi lemak wise, the sambal is not nice at all, they must improve. Chicken was juicy . Mee hun kuih the portion is like for a small kid, damn little. The soup has this fishy smell that i really cannot tolerate. Spring rolls was sweet and doesnt goes well with their spicy sambal. Mee siam was sold out so the waiter (mai yuan )recommended curry laksa , which was the best among all dishes thanks to her. Coming back to beverages, I personally as barista, have tried lots of coffees, but here it was horrible experince. The worst coffee ever, please la please change the barista or change receipe. Cannot tahan already. Service wise, asked tissue and the waiter showed us where it is, and walked away simply. Please give training to all the service crew how to be polite. Or ask Mai Yuan to be the teacher how to smile at customers. Note to the manager of this outlet, train ur staffs for god...

I need to write a new review to supersede previous review that I left few years back. The waiter and waitress service had dropped, though still faster than other cafe restaurant, but significantly less attentive and less friendly for now compare to previous crew. Food taste still good but the iced kopi C taste has changed, not so strong as it used to be, slight disappointment. Hope can have improvement. I would still come again as overall still good taste good service.

Superseded: Because of their quick and fast response waiter and waitress service, they deserved 5 stars rating. I always come here for breakfast and brunch which always full of customers with a queue to wait, but seldom need to wait more than 15 min, this is still acceptable. Local foods and beverages served here were tasty with affordable price and environment. Hope that they don’t increase...
