Really like the interior of this branch at Permas Jaya :) feels like I’m eating at a high class Japanese restaurant, but I realised the entrance was not well maintained anymore (massage chair area are now filled with boxes and the snacks area was really dirty and messy), probably due to the pandemic and some irresponsible customers.
However, service was good and the food at Warakuya never fails to impress me 🙈 the RM10 voucher is attractive though 😅 keeps making customer go back for more, smart move.
*Food review: Warakuya’s special sushi is deep fried with seawee served with prawns and pork (?) but there’s no sushi rice in it yeah. Wasn’t aware on this till I had my first bite 😅
All their ramen in the stone pot are A++ (have tried all of them and I loved every single one haha)
As for the curry udon, I think the Pelangi branch’s curry was thicker..? Preferred the curry udon at Pelangi branch though.
The don served with beef was really nice for me! Enjoyed it 😊
Complementary pudding is always nice but i prefer the Milo/chocolate and mango flavoured ones more than this purple one. Is it yam? Can’t really...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with the service at this branch. The staff had a terrible attitude and seemed completely untrained. One of our dishes was missing because the waiter didn’t even bother to repeat the order for confirmation and when we checked the receipt, we realized it was never keyed in. We tried calling for a server multiple times to reorder, but no one came, even though it was 3 PM and the restaurant was almost empty.
The hot towels were only given after another table was seated — we had already started eating. No one came to refill our tea either. All the staff were just standing around, looking like they didn’t want to be there. Every single one of them had a “can’t be bothered” attitude. And yet we’re expected to pay a 10% service charge?
The food was average at best, with a strange pork smell in some dishes. I’ve visited the Pelangi branch several times and never had such issues — the staff there are much more professional. This outlet seriously needs to train its...
Read moreIt's quite difficult to recommend this place even though by comparison to other Japanese restaurants out there, they are considered quite affordable. I would consider their prices to be quite fair in most cases. but the place is starting to show its age. The place feels quite worn out and there were boxes and equipment lying around the restaurant in plain sight, which affected the experience a little.
The food is so-so for local standard, although the sashimi that day wasn't superb (except for the salmon which was quite fresh).
From what we can observed, they were severely under-staffed and can be seen just rushing around trying to attend to every table. I cannot imagine if it was a full-house that night. Most of the staff were friendly except for a few but I guess they have had a really busy day rushing so can't really blame them for being a little inattentive some times. So do adjust your expectations if you are there...
