We did a road trip from Johor Bahru to Yong Peng on a Tuesday with the intention of trying out some Foo Chow food, but were disappointed to find that many restaurants were closed, despite Google Maps saying they are open. In the end we had a meal at YS Shaw, because this was among the few restaurants that were opened that served something that looked Foo Chow. We ordered red wine mee suah, xi dao fishballs, and otak-otak. The red wine mee suah is a bit on the sweeter side, which is not my preferred taste but my wife loved it. The fishballs were fresh, but the otak-otak was the best. Our next table ordered the fried dumplings and we could hear the crunch, so probably quite good too, though we did not try it ourselves. I would most likely try other restaurants if I ever come to Yong Peng again, but if everywhere else is closed, this restaurant...

4 adults and 2 kids, all enjoyed very much and cleared all our bowl. We liked the clear soup base which was simple and taste like good old taste. The curry noodle was delicious and spice just nice.
There were many other local products and we bought a few to try too.
