Restoran TOP D'Gurun — Restaurant in Kedah

Went there after numerous sharing on my FB about this shop. Here's my experience. Service is good, nothing is bad about them. We went there quite early, so not a huge crowd at that time but after a while, the crowd does grow. The curry is good. One of my recommended menu here. The squid, while not too bad but it does not meet my expectation. It was overcooked and dry but the gravy does save it. The grill beef is pretty good as well but again dry from being overcooked. The catfish is good, another recommendation. Also, don't miss out the sambals. They complement the food perfectly.

Overall, this is one of the place that I can recommend but they really missed that wow factor mostly because they overcooked their food. Also, they grill them on gas stove. Probably another why they missed that 'wow' from me. I see that their main branch grill them...

food on the pricey side but no complaints about the taste. I paid rm18.5 for a plate of white rice, 2 halves of a cucumber and a some sambal belacan and cencaluk and 100g of their grilled lamb and a glass of iced tea. I think the lamb cost rm 13, and to be fair it was all meat, no bones. lamb was topped with a sweet black pepper sauce and mayonnaise. May not be to everyone's liking but fine for me. did order the infamous sotong buncit, the adik that jaga the sotong ask me my table number and told him twice, but after waiting for 1 hour no sotong came. and no, it wasn't a particularly busy day. anyways, food generally is good, price is above average but not unreasonably expensive. probably need to come with a better ordering system so that don't miss or forget orders. haven't try their other...

Kalau rasa nak kene potong leher dengan harga yang mencekik darah silakan ke kedai ini....bukan sedap mana pun....aku dah besa makan merata tempat....typical malay je yang makan kat sini.....aka tak pernah keluar hutan atau keluar tempat lain...wei hampa ni serik2 ka tipu dalam timbangan????hampa tak takut ka dengan azab Allah???AWAT SUKA MAKAN RIBA????
