Al Khatiri Kofee Kubang Kerian — Restaurant in Kelantan

This place looks like a cross between a pub and a gentleman club with its dark and plush furniture, and very moody lighting. They are almost missing a tabacconist.

Came for coffee but they serve Arabica and Robusta blend and I didn't want to risk a headache so ordered a matcha latte and the chicken congee instead. The matcha latte was milky, sweet and lacked umami, but it came with a very cute tulip art. The chicken congee was exactly how mum made it. So comforting, with a side of salty egg, fried bilis, and sambal.

At that price range, I expected 100% premium Arabica beans, 100% matcha powder and a table service. But, willing to overlook because the place is so clean and comfortable! You can see they took extreme care keeping the place spotless and probably has the cleanest and most beautiful toilets at a food place...

I was a bit disappointed when the 2nd time I came here. I come for iftar. There were not so many people in this restaurant. Not crowded. We are a bit late. But most of them were already there early. However, I feel the staff should manage the situation. But something different happened. The food was late. Even the drinking they serve lasts. They also do not give dates to us to buka puasa. When we want to order nasi, the waitress said it will take time. So we ordered spaghetti because we followed what she suggested. But we were really disappointed because the food is very late! Pros: The ambience of this place is superb. It a great place to meet up with friends or have a group conversation. The place is quite spacious and they provide a lot of different kinds of seats. You just have to choose according to your preference. The washroom is clean and well-maintained.

Cons: I didn't try any food or pastries here, but I only bought a chocolate iced drink, and my verdict is that it's not to my liking. It tastes like a cheap cocoa drink despite its price.

Overall, I like this place (mainly bcs of the atmosphere). If I go to Kubang Kerian in the future, I will visit this place again and try...
