Hong Bak... it's Hokkien name for braised pork trotters, not a name of a place or even the famous Thailand Muay Thai movie (Ong Bak.. ok, bad joke). When you mention "Hong Bak" in Klang, there is only one place synonymous with this dish.. Swee Xiang. In fact, they don't call the restaurant by name.. mention Hong Bak and they know where to go for a meal.

Since I have quite a lot of customers in this Royal town, naturally they brought me here but that was a story of many many years ago. I remember this place vividly because I can't forget how good the hong bak was. Opportunity came again one day when our car kaki wanted to meet up lunch. Termed as "canteen" by one of us, he made all the necessary arrangement and everything was served immediately as soon as we took our seat.

◾Hong Bak - a big plate of all their signature meats sliced and jumbled up... Pork trotters, intestines, chicken feet, eggs! Looks very messy but I stress again.. this will be one of the best Hong Bak you'll ever try. In the end, I had the most bones spitted on the table on my side. ◾Bah Kut Teh - not as famous as the Hong Bak and if I were to compare with other BKT places in Klang, their version is milder with light herbal taste. But then some might like it.. because all of us grow up eating different style of BKT. It was OK for me, but I was fixated at the Hong Bak. Served in claypot ◾boiled soup - something to wash up all the thick and sweet sauce. Expect to find intestines, black fungus, taufu, seaweed, and others inside the soup. Love this.

Excellent foods, if only the environment can make it cooler a bit, then it will be perfect. They are very busy during lunch hours, as well as during weekends because they are quite famous among locals and...

Updated on3July2022. I visited the original shop near the factory area in Klang Utama 4 years ago. The food is bad and the shop is hot. I came to this new shop after they moved here. Surprisingly the food has improved alot. The claypot bakuteh now is rich flavor with herb and porks. The leg tendon, ka wan, is also soft and tender. I definitely confirm tht the improvemt has nothing to do with new and clean environment but the food is better. Definitely i will come again to confirm this.

(Comment in 4years ago) The meat is soft but tasteless. The bakuteh also no herb and spices taste but only black soy source salty taste only. But if u r a lover for soft and tender pork, the taste here maybe suitable for u. But definitely not my taste. Also, it is very hot here especially at ard 9am++ where the sun come up and u have to be seated on the table along...

I had lunch nearby and noticed the large number of customers at this restaurant. I was told that their Braised Pork Leg was good so I decided to get a takeaway of their pork leg set. It came with a huge pork leg, pork tendons, braised chicken feet and three hard boiled eggs. The braised gravy was thick and flavourful and was perfect with steamed rice. Both the pork leg and chicken feet were fall off the bone tender. Tendons were cooked just right, full of collagen. Well worth the RM80 price for the set in my opinion. Good enough...

The best Hong bak in town. Swee Xiang serve best Hong bak in klang. They also have bakuteh both dry and soup. This bakuteh shop has air conditioning room as well, their service is fast. The Hong bak can eat together with kuih, which is a traditional way. The bakuteh soup is also quite good, but the dry bakuteh is average. They are plenty of parking space around the shop. Suggest you to take away the rm68 pork knuckle Hong bak, it is big portion and can keep in freezer.
