Great choice of Bakuteh around the area Weird that there aren't that many customers when compared to their taste.
Flavour The broth was flavourful and somewhat thiccccc We ordered a mixed variety with exception to PorkRibs. The meat was tender with great proportion of Meat to Fat. They even reheated the soup separately, which makes the meal even more enjoyable, especially to us Chinese that like our food hot and steamy. Their location is somewhat hidden, when compared to other Bakuteh shop nearby. That's probably why there weren't that many customers. After trying out a few bakuteh shops nearby, this is definitely my to go.
Prices As for their prices, we ordered 2 portions of Dry and 2 portions of soup based Bakuteh for 4 person. Totalled up to around RM100ish only. Considerably cheap compared to the other shops.
Parking Parking is somewhat a nightmare for those that are not used to side parking. But that's KL for you.
Hospitality You can't expect much from a shop, but the owners were all smiles when handling our orders.
With such great taste at such reasonable price, I'll probably be...
Read moreAs a Klang person, I’ve tried a few BKT around kepong and I had to give this place a good review. It’s one of the most similar tasting to Klang ones.
From the colour it is approved by this Klang foodie here!
Taste wise, I love and appreciate how it’s leaning towards more savoury. Some of the other places nearby their taste leans towards sweet and it’s just really not on par for my tastebud.
Slightly more hidden, if I did not come across the google map by typing in BKT I wouldn’t be able to locate it.
The soup is great and price to portion wise is pretty fairly priced. I have to say, in Kepong, I believe this has to be one of the best dry bak kut teh place. I love how they’re generous with the dried shredded squid which is the essence in the good dry bak kut teh as it’s most similar to klang ones yayyyy.
If there’s one thing I would have preferred, for the fatty meat to be less fatty, haha it’s too...
Read moreCook to order. Rich and thick herbal soup. Pork is boneless, tender yet doesn't lose the chew. Fats thick and melts in mouth, flavourful and gamey. Dry version too generous with cuttlefish and ladyfingers, slightly overpowering the pork. Cabbage light and fresh, matches well and cleanses the heavy flavours. Chilli not spicy. Provides a huge air cooler indoors, makes the dining in experience more comfy during lunch. Overall...
