Located at a village area. This Food Court offers Claypot Chicken Rice, Pan Mee, Pork Noodle, Mixed Pork, Thai Food (Braised Pork Leg, etc), Satay, Rojak & BBQ Tofu, Chinese Stir Fry Rice & Noodles, Char Kuey Teow, etc.
Atmosphere: 4🌟 Open air but the place is super spacious. Though not very new or very clean but considered quite good for village area. If they only sweep the floor more a bit then it will be better. They have quite a few stray dogs and cats being fed by customers from time to time. There seems to be a stage nearby probably for performance. There's a parking lot beside and a basketball court behind/above the Old Tree/Small Chinese Paring Altar.
Morning/Afternoon Stalls
Food: Claypot Chicken Rice 3.75🌟 Soup: Herbal 4.25🌟 Opens in the Morning only (closed by 2pm) and Rest on Monday and Thursday. There's like 5 options of stew soup. This one has quite a bit of "hard rice" crust, maybe suitable for you if you really aim and looking for these type. Taste is pretty straigthforward (not complex) and chicken is well marinated. Sausages looks "old" dark red type and the salted fish is given separately (very salty but quite nice). Priced at Rm 11 which is very affordable. Soup is very nice as there's quite a lot ingredients that is very flavourful still. Broth of the soup is also very nice and flavourful. Chicken maybe a bit tough but quite a bit of meat. Priced at Rm 8 (without rice) is very affordable.
Food: Herbal Pan Mee 3.25🌟 Thick Noodle has good harder consistencies that I like just that it's straight (not curly or QQ at all). The broth is decent but the herbal taste isn't a lot, pretty much just the Wolfberry. If it's normal Pan Mee Soup I would give slightly higher rating
Evening/Night Stalls Only Chinese Stir Fry, Rojak and maybe Thai Food opens till later (after 8pm) but evening time also has Mixed Pork and Char Kuey Teow still.
Food: Mixed Pork Noodle 3🌟 "Zhu Zap", ordered without pork blood and had it with Yee Mee (which isn't a lot). I think it has pork intestine, liver, meat and maybe kidney. Borth is rather plain, mainly black pepper but it's ok. Priced at Rm 11
Food: Fruit Rojak 3.5🌟 Asked for no sour ones which mango is omitted. It has Pineapple (not that sour), Cucumber, Jicama, Flat Crispy "You Tiao"/Chinese Fried Breadstick and shredded peanuts. The sauce is quite tasty, thick and flavorful. Priced at Rm 9
Drinks: Chinese Tea (Cold) "Bungkus" version...
Read moreYou are attracted to its rustic feel of yesteryear when you are about to enter its premises. I could be over reacting since I am a kampong boy myself. I feel so at home here. A place tucked away on an upslope with parking in front of its premises and by the main road in a new village. Plenty of stalls serving a variety of hawker foods to choose from, local fares, Thai, western etc. The place is airy and bright even TV monitors for you to while away your time. Time seems to stand still for you to reminisce the nostalgic past if you know what I mean. We ordered Thai sambal rice, chicken breast meat meehoon and gravy curry chicken wantan mee. Foods are reasonably good but not any means cheap to boot with. Captive local customers and passersby are still frequenting here with its spacious and open...
Read moreI frequent this place almost every week, only for the Claypot chicken rice and soup!
Their soup is hot and tasty. Auntie used a lot of ingredients (seafood, chickens, herbs) to make the soup.
Claypot chicken is also very nice (their salted fish is legit). I have been trying to find a comparable ones but hardly can find one in KL!
They have a variety of Chinese soups (herbal, lotus with peanut, many more 花生莲藕,老黄瓜,西洋菜,药材…) and it usually runs out before 1pm! Better call to reserve or go early for the soup.
They are closed on Thursday and Monday also public holiday!
Pricing wise, very cheap. This is honestly a hidden gem in Salak South! What a...
