Megi Ketam Bistro — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Its my first time here. The shop is pretty visible from Jln Batu Muda. Decorated with lights n all.

Umm...i dono. Its a mix review for me.

This shop is like a large gerai at the side of the road. Parking is according to your creativity n its easier if u go at night.

Food: I ordered Maggee SeaFood. Maybe its just my luck cus when it arrived its just lukewarm and not hot as any maggee lover would love. Im not sure how long it was waiting on the kitchen until it was serve to me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Taste wise...Maybe that meal is not for me. It has some spicy flavour but falls short to be a delicious meal. 🙏 The noodle and the seafood soup just doesnt match that much. Dont get me wrong. Its ok but maybe its just not that awesome.

Rojak was tasty since they blend the fruits with some sambal. Yes sambal.

Fried Baby crab meal was enourmous.😂 I should have asked about the size of the meal portion, b4 ordering it. Crispy and crunchy. So it's nice n recommended.🤩 I had to pack away 😂🙏

Service: Still need improvement. We came , sat n ordered. Another family arrived later beside our table and they got their order first.🤷🏻‍♂️ I think we waited around 20 min for the maggee to arrive albeit suam🥹.

One important point though, i need the manager to.check the entrance. There was a strong drain smell when stepping into the shop. The smell disappear once inside but we were almost put off and almost left the shop when we smelled that. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Price: Average.

Their specialty is undoubtedly the fresh crab, which is a must-try for anyone visiting. The menu has many other tempting options as well, so you’ll definitely find something to suit your taste. While the restaurant lacks dedicated parking space, you can park along the road, although it can be a bit challenging during busy hours. On the bright side, the indoor dining area is spacious and comfortable, with a variety of seating arrangements to accommodate different group sizes and preferences.

An added bonus is that the restaurant has a surau, making it convenient for those who wish to pray during their visit. We came in a large group, which allowed us to try a variety of dishes. The beverages served were also top-notch, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. However, there’s room for improvement in terms of service. Some of the staff appeared to be not as well-trained, and there was a noticeable delay in receiving our food, which could be better managed.

Despite these minor setbacks, the overall experience at this seafood-specialized restaurant in Gombak was enjoyable. It’s definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re a fan of fresh crab...

Good: -Food were tasty, we had maggi seafood and bihun champa. -Price affordable. -They provided a room equipped with aircond for people who prefers to sit inside. Too bad we didnt notice the room.. -Plenty of parking space. -Service is good, food was served fast

Bad: -We went at night time and sat outside, so there was lot of mosquitos.. -The beverages is just so so. Too sweet to my liking.

Tips:- The mee champa didnt taste like the famous one in Dungun, Terengganu. It is good but do not expect to get the same taste.
