I recently had the pleasure of dining at Shun De Ren Jia and it was an exceptional experience. The roast goose was absolutely delicious, with a crispy, savory skin and tender meat. The portion was impressively generous for a quarter of the goose, easily satisfying four people. FYI, goose is twice larger than a duck. The last time I enjoyed such a delectable goose was in Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Please don't use Sun Ming Kee duck restaurant in Taman Connaught as your yardstick to compare as I have seen that Myanmar staffs were hired to roast the duck and the standard has dropped.
The minced pork was a delightful surprise, offering a unique twist from the local style and it was fantastic. I also loved the Hakka tofu and the stir-fried potato slices with vinegar. The latter was an enormous portion for RM 19 and it is so much so that I had to take some home!
Knowing that the chefs are all from Shengdu adds to the authentic experience. While the quarter goose at RM 128 might seem steep, the portion size and the fact that it's imported from Shengdu justify the price. If you don't order roast goose, there are plenty of affordable options in the mid-range. I found the pricing comparable to places like Dragon I or Sek Yuen Restaurant.
Additionally, the lady boss was very friendly and made the dining experience even more enjoyable with her warm hospitality. Overall, I highly recommend Shun De Ren Jia for anyone seeking authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine...
Read moreCame here for dinner way back in July and really like their food so much. The prawns were especially good. So fresh and so succulent. We tried a variety of dishes even though there was only 3 adults abs 2 teenagers. Can't complain as the dishes were done well and taste wonderful. The service was quick and prompt, and the dishes came out one by one - we didn't have to wait long for food at all. The place is very clean and tastefully furnished. It looked a bit small from the outside, but there is an upstairs dining space with private rooms and an elevator to boot so customers and staff don't have to trudge up and down the stairs. Parking in front of the restaurant could be a challenge especially on weekends and public holidays, but there are plenty of alternative spots along the streets8f you mind a short walk. Other than that, I find the place to be...
Read moreFood taste is ok, abit salty, but this depends on own personal preference.
The service is slow. After first 2 dishes are served, waited very long like 20 mins for next dish to be served. By that time, my rice is already cold and hard. But according to the staff, they mistakenly delivered the other table's food to us, hence there is a huge gap of time in food serving. Inexperience staff.
Over price. Yee sang + 6dishes (3 are vege) sum up to rm320+. The food is not worth the price paid for.
Hygiene - the plates are dirty. But overall ambience is ok.
Cili padi and garlic seem like have been stored for quite some time, not fresh. The cili padi is dried, the garlic seems like put in the fridge for some time.
Ordered yee sang. Only 1 size. No salmon, only octopus, jellyfish and abalone slice. A bit disappointed that yee sang got no...
