The setting is pretty, nice and calm. It has a nature touch and and they do a very pretty table deco for RM 160. This will include candle light and fresh rose flowers and petals. They also have good cake and the staff will sing for your occasion ( happy Birthday) but I don’t recommend the food here. The food is not great at all. With all the glamor and ambience this is a major set back. The staff forgot one of our orders and we had to wait extra 15min for the food to show. So all in all beautiful restaurant and amazing setting but low quality food I hope they improve their quality and tase of food. After writing this review I had to re edit it. To write the below. I informed the host ā€œiamonā€ that the food was not good and he got offended about it and he started getting really heated up about it. He said that we should be more polite in telling them that the food was not good. He seemed like he wanted to fight over this matter. I would say this is very bad hospitality as he cudnt accept the situation and opinion of the guest. He was like ā€œ if I came to your house and said this how will you feelā€ I hope he understand that this is a restaurant and we pay good money for it. So I don’t think we should be arguing or fighting over such a matter. Thank you all for this unforgettable experience .

Subak Restaurant, nestled in Bukit Lanjan, Kuala Lumpur, offers a unique dining experience with its serene, nature-inspired ambiance. The Balinese-style setting, surrounded by lush greenery, provides a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The menu features a fusion of Malaysian and Western dishes, catering to diverse palates. Diners have praised the friendly staff and the restaurant's suitability for special occasions, noting it as an ideal spot for photography and celebrations. However, some reviews have mentioned areas for improvement, such as the maintenance of facilities and the availability of menu items. Despite these points, many guests appreciate the overall dining experience, especially the opportunity to enjoy meals in a natural, alfresco setting. In summary, Subak Restaurant is a charming venue for those looking to dine amidst nature, offering a pleasant atmosphere and a varied menu.

For starters, this place is beautiful. It’s basked in nature and the atmosphere is romantic and quaint. Living in the city, we lack spaces like this. But I wouldn’t label this place ā€œfine diningā€. The staff were polite but also inattentive. They lack experience but it’s not something I’m too pressed about— though it may be a different story for other patrons. What is genuinely disappointing for me however was the food. The appetiser: Soto soup came cold, gado-gado salad was mediocre and daging batang was subpar at best. The only main course that we liked was the Ikan Assam pedas and it was pretty average. I did like the cheese cake though. But it stings a little that I enjoyed a dessert more than a main. All in all, it’s a beautiful place for a romantic getaway but if you are a foodie, this place may not be to your satisfaction.

Last night my friends from Canada and I decided to celebrate my 64th birthday at Subak. The evening was completely marred by the horribly bad service of your restaurant. Firstly, at the time when I made the booking I specifically informed Subak this is a birthday dinner. They said they will set up a birthday table for us with balloons etc. I also requested them to prepare a cake and play my When I'm 64 song for the cake cutting. I booked for 8 pm but you text back to ask us to be there at 7 pm. Why I have no idea since we were the only ones at the restaurant when we arrived at 7.20 pm.We were then shown to an ordinary table. There were 3 birthday tables set up next to our table with red table cloths, candles and balloons but NONE ON OUR TABLE, NO TABLE SETTING, NO CUTLERY, ETC...The mood of the evening was already taken down especially since we had prebooked the dinner and paid the deposit. Next we were shown the buffet table and just as we started to sit down and havent had the chance to taste the soup, ALL OF THE MAIN COURSES ARRIVED. Of course there was no room on the table and everything was a tight fit. I cannot understand why some time say 15 mins cannot be given to customers before taking out the main course. At most restaurants the waiters should at least ASK the customers if thry are ready for a main course. The saving grace of the whole fiasco is the excellent meals of the main course. If they were bad or below standard I would have walked out without paying after what happened next. And so the main courses arrived and we were enjoying the food. Suddenly out of the blue RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MAIN COURSE.. like 5 mins after served, the waiters suddenly came and presented the birthday cake, played the birthday song and sang Happy Birthday....in a manner that felt like they just wanted to finish what needs to be done quickly. The plate of chocolate cake was presented to us and placed on the table which had NO PLACE FOR THE CAKE AS WE WERE EATING OUR MAIN COURSE so we had to make room. And that was the extent of thr service After that no follow up to remove the plates and cutlery until we requested and we are left on our own. Even as we left no one said goodbye to us.

Subak..what kind of restaurant is this. You are supposed to be a fine dining restaurant. You have lovely premises. Your food is excellent. Instead you allow a bunch of monkeys who have not been trained to serve customers to spoil your reputation and image. The service...

I called on Christmas day in the morning to make a reservation for a table with candlelight and flowers for dinner as it's for Christmas and also my birthday. At first the Indonesian guy who's the manager there quoted must pay 165rm just for the flowers and candles then he increased the price to 175rm for a table of 5. This is not charges for any food just for 2 candles and some flowers petals on the table only yet I agreed I will pay extra for this and to confirm my booking I gave him my name and number. So I was looking forward and when I went there the place was not at all looking presentable nor romantic it was very brightly lit with fluorescent lights and looked old and all tables empty there was barely anyone there so when I told him my name and phone number he pretended he didnt know and then I saw my name and number in the reservation book and he didnt prepare any table for me at all I was very angry he was pointing at me to sit on some empty table at the entrance under the fluorescent light and told me if I want a table with candles and flower I have to pay 215rm I screamed at him that I already told him over the phone to make a reservation earlier and agreed to pay for 175rm just for that yet my table he did not prepare it and spoilt my mood for me and my family. I left immediately! Do not be fooled by the reviews here seems like an empty dead place where no one goes there and the atmosphere not romantic at all very disappointed the guy and restaurant ruined my...
