Sad to say, but this is the first restaurant which I am not happy with. The place looks great, at first glance.
I came for lunch and ordered a Soto, which apparently was a new dish being introduced in this restaurant. It regrettably did not taste like Soto. A food taster would do better justice than me to identify its problem.
I had a pineapple juice for a drink. I'm guessing that the restaurant uses fresh pineapple fruits. Kudos for the effort, but I believe that there should be some attention paid to how sour and diluted a fruit juice can get.
Maybe it was my lousy luck with the food and drink. But then, the table we sat at had the wrong chairs to use for a meal. How comfortable would one be, sitting on a sofa at a dining table?
The acoustics for the restaurant is terrible. A hard concrete floor, a hard concrete ceiling and hard concrete / tiled walls. These just bounce sound around, making casual conversations uncomfortable.
There are no curtains on the almost floor - to - ceiling high windows. On a bright afternoon, when you look up from your plate towards your companion who happens to be sitting between the window and yourself, you will not be able to clearly see their face. Your eyes would be squinting against the bright sunlight from the windows.
I believe this place has its strong points. It seems I must have sat on the wrong place and at the wrong time in this...
Read moreThe last day of my stay in Labuan. I came to a fashionable cafe near the airport for an early dinner before the flight. I ordered some menus and the picture is one of them. The mango smoothie has plenty of fresh cream on the top, but the mango smoothie part was the best match for the crispness of the crushed ice, the natural sweetness of the mango and the richness of the pleasant fruit. It went very well with the retouching between meals.
The beef slices I ordered, the beef dumplings and hormones, and the warm noodles with somen noodles were very delicious. The soup stock of beef was good, and a little onion and small onion went very well.
My daughter, who is three and a half years old, often ate somen noodles. The taste was easy to eat even for small children. I ordered 3 handmade gelato for dessert. Coconut original, coconut yogurt, tiramisu white.
I was able to have a good meal time...
Read moreWe had our late lunch here. Ordered the Sandakan style prawn yee mee (RM21.90) a bit over priced as only 3pcs of prawns (luckily was fresh), BBQ Mix Konlo mee (RM19.50) reasonable as it's mixed of roast chicken and roasted duck. The duck meat was tender and tasty with it's sauce, Korean Spicy Chicken Wings with rice (RM21.00).. Comes with 3 pcs of chicken wings in Korean sauce and white rice. Kinda dry but taste was good. We also ordered dimsum... Fried Bean skin Prawn (RM8.90 for 3pcs), Chicken Prawn Dumplings (RM8.50) and Salted Egg Siew Mai (RM8.50) both got 3pcs per set. It's their in house hand made and the portion is big. A lot bigger than most restaurant serving dimsum. Worth the price. Highly recommended for...
