Our friend loves the deep-fried wonton here, so we had to come here for lunch. We arrived at around 1 pm and the first floor was full. They had to open up the second floor for us and other new customers.

We ordered the deep fried wonton (25 pcs for 4 of us!), wonton noodles, ipoh hor fan, half steamed chicken, and a plate of vege.

The deep-fried wonton did not disappoint. It was fried to golden brown perfection. Crispy on the outside and piping hot inside. The filling was generous as well.

The wonton noodles and the ipoh hor fan were normal. I wouldn't say they're a must-have, but it was a decent main to have while enjoying the sides. None of us finished the wonton noodles or ipoh hor fan.

The vege was pretty good. I was afraid it would be too salty based on the colour of the sauce, but it was just right. I'm not too sure what vege it was, but it looked like a sort of lettuce.

The steamed chicken was tender and juicy, and they actually served it de-boned.

Will definitely return for the deep-fried wonton again if I'm...

The lady boss is upset when we ordered individually as we all hv our preference like char siew rice, prawn noodles, porridge, wan tan mee etc, instead of having dishes. That was what we all felt via her facial reaction n attitude.

The food was served without the chilies. We hv to ask for green chilies, sambal for the prawn noodles, porridge- we specifically mentioned no internal organ but we were served with the internal organ. When we highlighted, she says that we didn't mentioned.

We ordered 2 prawn noodles. O ly 1 came to table. Again, when we ask where is the other one. She straight away ask her kitchen n later found out it's her mistake for writing wrongly. One instead of 2 order. No apology of her short coming.

When business is good, people tend to be arrogant. I believe such bosses had forgotten how covid had thought everyone to be humble. Well, tome will tell.

This will be our last to this establishment. We are still a paying customer not asking for free food. Very...

Hup Huat has the BEST charsiew (roast pork) I have ever tasted - juicy, tender and oh-so-melt-in-the-mouth. I usually order the fatty portions and owner delivers the goods alright! Even the lean portions taste fantastic.

Also recommended are their fried prawn/shrimp wontons - the prawns are bouncy and crunchy, just the way I like it.

You might also want to order their Oyster Sauce Steamed Chicken - very tender and thoughtfully deboned. Blanched Beansprouts are just as good, lightly blanched so the sprouts remain crisp. Of course, if you prefer them to be softer, simply ask them and they will oblige.

If you are a fan of porridge, their claypot porridge is very smooth and goes well with the other dishes. Decide on what ingredients you'd like in your porridge.

I've been a fan of their food ever since they started in the dilapidated old place somewhere along Bunga Raya, and followed them to their current address. ...

The fried prawn wonton is a must order. At RM1.20 per piece it may be pricey but you'll get a prawn in each wonton. Absolutely crispy and crunchy. The claypot century porridge is another must order. Thick, smooth congee generous with ingredients. The steam chicken is also a good complement. Its smooth and drenched in the flavourful sauce. Fried rice is unique because they added bean sprout to it. Not many restaurants have this version The char siu has a homemade taste to it. Ask for half lean half fat. Portions are generous so it's best to come in group to try everything.

Used to frequent this eatery with my fam when I was younger/ they were still located near Rex Cinema. It was popular among locals. The food here has always been slightly pricier (as of July 2022: RM1.80 per piece of wonton) and even more so after the ease of lockdown. Today I had their wonton mee and found that it wasn’t salty or flavourful enough. Noodles were overcooked, too soft. Service and environment were good though. Would only come back once in a while.
