A short transit enroute home, on Labour day public holiday, taking the inner road to avoid heavy traffic on highway. We were there 7ish pm. 7 pax. 3 generations of 5 adults, 1 teenager and a child.
We were ushered to our table upon entrance. Requested a table outside and we were asked if it was ok to be seated in a tent as it may rain. We agreed.
Table was sea facing. It was a comfortable breezy night. We were told to go to the front registration area to QR code our menu. We were given an order sheet to be filled upon scanning menu QR code. Went back to our table to to confirm order for mains and drinks. We then headed back to registration area to confirm on our fish order. Finally passed order sheet to PIC. We werent efficient.
Tip: Ensure that you head directly to registration area at front (should you park near the campsite - side entrance). Scan QR code for menu and get order sheet. Fill order sheet once you get table assigned, as such that you may fill table number of order sheet. All orders are standard S (1-2pax), M (3-4pax) or L (6-7pax). Price is displayed clearly at QR code area. Plain water is self service.
We headed to the beach whilst waiting for our order. Beach is clean and sand fine. There was a live band playing. It was a nice windy night. We witnessed a few planes flying through the night sky.
Surprisingly it wasnt a long wait, despite the crowd and our drinks and food was served.
Our order: Tomyam seafood (M), Telur bistik (M), Kailan ikan masin (S), Sotong telur masin (M), Siakap 3 rasa (M), Ayam goreng kunyit (S), Apple Asam boi, Laici, Kopi panas, Kopi O, Limau Suam. Total: RM190. We thought the price fair for our order.
Was it the best food we've ever had? No. However almost everyone went in for second serving of rice (even child), everyone enjoyed their meal (picky eaters too) as such that we added extra order of rice!
Tomyam seafood (though average, was everyone's favourite) and Siakap tiga rasa was relatively tasty. Sotong telur masin tasted more buttery than salted egg but was ok. Kailan ikan masin was the usual.
There were also a few birthday setups. For couple (sea facing), as well as family (covered area). Place seems to be popular for such events. Live band was heard wishing and singing birthday song for individuals celebrating.
Why 5 stars even though food was average? Friendly & attentive staff Orders were received quite promptly Overall ambience and happy vibes Nice beach accessibility pre and post meal
Amenities Surau
There were also ample wash basins, conveniently spaced. Tissues and cutleries aptly stationed.
It was definitely a nice closure to our full day balik kampung...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust came back from Pd yesterday, went to the restaurant for dinner with a family of 11 adults.
Ambience: A restaurant by the roadside, with options of open air dining, under big tent or in the wooden-restaurant. Some of the fans faulty, thus uncomfortable for customers especially during this hot season.
Price: Exorbitant & Ridiculous. Fish like Jenahak, Kerapu & Siakap price range around RM 7 - RM 8.50 / 100g, Stingray (It's 'Tuka' actually - smaller version of Stingray ) price RM5.50/100g, Lala (clam) RM4/100g, Prawn RM20/100g, Pomfret RM8/100g...
Service: Very Slow - drinks were only served after 1 hour & food served after 1 1/2 hours. Notice few customers left and canceled orders. Used dirty plates were not timely cleaned-up, left cluttered on the tables.
Food: Quality - Average, nothing special, taste just like ordinary Tomyam stalls elsewhere. The sambal-grill fish was dry. Serving size: Similar to ordinary tomyam stall, with choices of either Small, Medium or Large. As a guide, the medium-sized portion served 4 person. As for the raw seafood like fishes - size varies depending on your choice.
Summary: The exorbitant price doesn't match the service, ambience & the quality of food served. Based on our experience, similar food cost only half the amount paid elsewhere. We were charged RM300++ for: 1 Stingray (RM 77+), 1 Pomfret (RM50+), 4 small bowls of Lala (RM40+), 2 medium size seafood tomyam (contain only small pieces of mix seafood) , 1 medium size kangkung belacan, 1 medium size bistik-egg, 1 large bowl of white rice, 1 jug of longan drink, 2 jugs of apple juice, 4 bottles of 500ml...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLovely place. Nice decoration make it overall a great ambience. Food was average. Waiting time was acceptable. Got our steamboat set quite fast but fried rice only arrived 40 minutes later.
Steamboat set considered expensive since the only seafood was bamboo clam. Some chicken meat and mutton. I believe chicken meat was only from one portion cut out in very small pieces.
We didnāt have a pleasant experience here since one of the staffs was quite rude towards us. We talked about taking our 3y/o a stroll at the beach and it was overheard by the middle aged lady, responsible of greeting customer at the entrance. She quickly said that our table would be given to the other customers if we leave the table empty. we argued that we already ordered the food and it must take some time for the food to be prepared and arrived. She denied it and reminded us, like guru besar, saying the food will go back straight to the kitchen if thereās no one at the table.
Mak cik, if would be better if you offer some help to look after the table as the table was located JUST next to you. or simply put āreservedā sign on the table just like you did on few others table.
Please owner look over this matter and donāt let this kind of staff ruin your business.
Jangan kerana dah āfull houseā layan customer macam mengemis nak makan di sini.
Overall, not thinking of...
