Instagramable place, lacklustre taste. I suppose aesthetic is not enough when it comes to appetite. Detailed review (edited with deets on ordered set) : Walking in is a bad idea. Bookings are prioritised so get ready to be dissapointed like I did when we realise that ala carte dishes are not available. Alas, the RM80 set seemed promising on paper. Yet, once served, the portions were small or felt slightly bare ingredient-wise. So it wasn't much of a wholesome meal to end a long day. Plus, dishes are served slow so make sure you're not starving before stopping by. An additional order of a simple dish like an omelette would take another 20 minutes so, it had to be cancelled. Service is also not that great. I'm sorry if your kitchen is experiencing overcapacity but it really is not something customers needed to know. And the snarky remarks upon cancellation of orders are not funny either. Feels rather unprofessional. There are pros sure. I'm a sucker for unique interiors and this hits the spot. But maybe for a coffee break and not when I'm hungry. So to future patrons, I suppose this is one of those place where you really gotta pick your battles. Culinary satisfaction might not be it.

Impromptu visit. Suddenly craving for ikan bakar for dinner. We drove from KL, departed at 6pm and arrived around 7.40pm. I read the reviews beforehand, worried my food will be served late thus I WhatsApp-ed the owner/staff (found at FB). I ordered at 1.15pm (6-7hrs before I dine in). They entertained all my questions and request. Earlier, we thought we will arrive at maghrib but due to some circumstances thus I told them to serve the food at 8pm. They responded fast. The ambience was nice, with the music and everything. The tomyam tasted good, suits my taste. We ordered 1 siakap but requested them to cook it into 2 dishes (half-half). I really love the bakar nusantara style, very very tasty. Sotong goreng tepung also good but the size of the sotong is a bit small but still we left with leftover (too full 😂). The whole thing including 1 jug of fresh orange cost us rm91(okay for me). Definitely will come back, maybe will try their western menu next.

A truly satisfying makan spot in Port Dickson, look no further than Makan in Banglo! I had the most amazing experience here — every single dish was packed with flavour, freshly cooked, and made with love. Ikan Bakar Pari – perfectly grilled, juicy and full of smoky goodness. Ayam Mango – sweet, sour, crispy, and super addictive! A must-try! Sotong Celup Tepung – crispy outside, tender inside. The batter was light and not oily at all. Kerang Bakar – fresh, juicy, and grilled to perfection. Tomyam Ayam – rich, spicy, and full of authentic Thai flavour. Warms the soul! Kailan Ikan Masin – the perfect veggie dish with just the right salty and fresh taste. Every bite was a joy! The portion sizes were generous, the prices reasonable, and the service was welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is chill and family-friendly — great spot for a getaway meal or dinner with loved ones. I’ll definitely be coming back again (and again!). Highly recommended! 🌴🍴

The Captain or the Chef simply missed the opportunity to leverage on the difficulty faced by disable customer. A person with good customer service and emphaty would know how to leverage the situation and capitalised the moment. He would have win the heart of a customer by showing his emphathy by greeting .... "...no problem makcik, makcik tunggu sini...kami bawak makanan turun...hati hati jalan dalam kawasan kami sebab lantai kami tak rata..,"

in service industry, dont let you ego ruin your business. to the owner of MIB (may be you were the Captain or the Chef I referred to), dont protect the guy who will ruin your business. Your all other staff were very kind and courteous, except for that particular person. he looks tense. take our comments constructively for the sake of your business. it is not our intention to give you bad review but simply to let you know the unpleasant experience we been througj. May Allah guide all of us

Note : Our request to have the dinner on the ground floor was due to my wife who is unable to climb stairs. She had knee replacemnt on both sides of her knees and she is a dialisis patient; she is physically weak and unstable to walk, what more climbing up the stairs. Our request was genuine and legitimate.

My suggestion to the owner, add an "disable unfriendly" icon in your business profile and best still, add a note stating "...we have makan space on the upper ground which can be access via stair case..."

side note to your respond.

i dont agree with your comment that we were rushing your staff. we did not. we did not make a noice or fuss. just...

I've been a few times now, and honestly, it's become one of my go-to spots when I'm craving good food in a relaxed and beautiful setting. If you're looking for a place that's as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate, this might just be your new favorite too.

First things first: the atmosphere. "Banglo" isn't just a name; it really is in a bungalow! And they've made the most of it. The decor is just gorgeous. Think overflowing pots of flowers, trailing vines, and strategically placed greenery everywhere you look. There are definitely a lot of trees and flowers, creating this really whimsical and calming vibe.

I've tried a few different things on the menu, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Everything is always fresh and flavorful, and you can tell they put a lot of care into the presentation.

Another big plus for Makan in Banglo is the parking. Finding a spot in that area can be a nightmare sometimes, but they have ample parking, which is a huge relief.

And the staff? Super friendly and welcoming. They always greet you with a smile and are happy to answer any questions you have about the menu. They really make you feel like a valued customer.

Okay, so here's the one (minor) drawback: the service can be a little slow, especially during peak hours. But honestly, it's understandable. The place is usually packed, which is a testament to how good it is! And the friendly staff more than makes up for it. Plus, with such a lovely atmosphere, you don't really mind waiting a little longer. It gives you more time to soak it all in and enjoy the company...

Misleading Reviews – Avoid This Place!

Decided to try out this restaurant since it had received numerous good reviews on Google. As a tourist, I often rely on these reviews to guide my dining choices. However, my experience at this particular restaurant was far from satisfactory. The first red flag was the excessive wait time. We sat hungry and impatient for over an hour, which was unacceptable. After a day of exploring, waiting that long for food was frustrating. When our orders finally arrived, the taste was super disappointing. The flavors were bland, and some dishes were downright unappetizing. It felt like a waste of both time and money. But the most frustrating part was the menu inconsistency. Several items we had eagerly ordered turned out to be unavailable. No one bothered to inform us beforehand, and they simply swapped them out without consulting us. Imagine looking forward to a specific dish and ending up with something entirely different! My advice to anyone reading this, just avoid this place, try some other restaurants that are available along this road. The positive reviews must be either fake or outdated. Explore alternative dining options in the area and avoid this disappointing place altogether. Oh, and one last thing, notice how the business owner always reply to bad reviews with sarcastic comments? Very...
