Overall ambiance is OK because I personally think it can be made better with air-conditioned room somewhere there in. Timing is very important because it can be stuffy when the crowd start building up especially at the buffet section.

Of course it's buffet style ....

...no served or ordered food here.

I used to have "patin" fish there at the RM10 a piece but when I went in today, there were only 2 options: Patin Mas at RM 20 a piece and Patin Buah at RM30 a piece.

Are these expensive?

My short answer is - it depends. But just make sure you have money in your pocket before you dig in ya :-)

So, overall, this place deserve a 3 stars based on its location, food taste, speed of staff service and...

This is the best Ikan Patin Tempoyak you can find in Kuantan. Always choose the main branch for the best quality food. Tempoyak, a gravy made from Fermented Durian with Chili/Sambal, is a well accepted this by the Malay community, but not so well known/received by the others. Their Tempoyak Gravy is thick, creamy, and has a distinctive Durian aftertaste. If you are a tourist, I would suggest to choose the best Patin quality option, the Ikan Patin Buah. This fish is not farmed, but caught from the our Pahang river, hence, the meat is extra tender, and has no weird fishy smell at all. Farmed Patin always got that fishy smell, and in my opinion, that will totally destroy the...

If you're visiting Kuantan/Temerloh, your visit would not be complete without trying the famous Patin Tempoyak, very well-known dish in the particular area.

For a person that is particularly not fond of Tempoyak, have to admit it is pretty good; although caveat is it might not appeal to certain people.

But the fish was super fresh and we also had the daging salai masak lemak; which were again very satisfying! The kuah is very savoury and really goes well with the rest of Sambal Belacan and Pucuk Ubi Tempoyak.

Gave it 4 stars because when we arrived (roughly 1pm) most of the food is already finished and was not re-filled; minor but...
