🏨✨ An All-Encompassing Overview of Hotel Sentral Kuantan ✨🏨
Our recent work trip to Kuantan led us to Hotel Sentral Kuantan, located at No.45, Jalan Besar. As a three-star establishment, the hotel boasts 192 comfortable guestrooms, equipped with essentials like a coffee/tea maker, direct-dial phone, in-room safe, minibar, and a hairdryer, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay.
The room’s entertainment options, featuring an LCD television with satellite service, added to the overall experience. The hotel’s facilities, including a restaurant with room service, currency exchange, concierge services, and tours/ticket assistance, catered well to our needs.
Booking through their website was straightforward, offering comprehensive information and a seamless reservation process.
The hotel’s strategic location, within walking distance of cultural venues and parks, made exploring the city during our leisure time convenient.
While the overall stay was pleasant, there were several areas that need attention and improvement. Despite the room’s comfort, efficient air conditioning, and a notably comfy bed, the water heater was a significant drawback. During the rainy season, the need for hot water was crucial, but unfortunately, the water heater proved to be inefficient. Even after reporting the issue to the reception and their attempts to involve maintenance, a viable solution was not provided.
Additionally, the meeting room and surau exhibited noticeable hygiene issues. Despite our interactions with Sales Assistant Gia, who was incredibly helpful during the booking process, and the overall friendly and accommodating reception staff, these hygiene concerns remained unresolved. It’s essential for the management to focus on maintaining proper hygiene in these communal areas to ensure a comfortable and satisfactory experience for all guests.
On a positive note, the hotel did offer a decently sized car park, enhancing the convenience for guests with vehicles.
In conclusion, Hotel Sentral Kuantan offers potential for a comfortable stay, but crucial improvements in addressing the water heater issue and maintaining hygiene in communal spaces like the meeting room and surau are necessary to elevate the overall...
Read moreFacilities: Poor First off, this is a refurbished hotel. Therefore it is understandable the facilities in and around the hotel is poor. There is no proper carpark for the hotel. It is either you park along the road that the hotel is situated on, or park on an empty lot of land behind the hotel. None of the carparks are covered. The cafe is small, and both mornings that I stayed there I had to wait for available tables. The elevator is barely bigger than a phone booth.
Service: Poor Staff are generally friendly, but do not give you the sense that they go that extra mile to make your stay more pleasant. Based on this, I would have just rated the passive service as "Fair", but had to knock it down to Poor as there are no bellboys to help send your luggage to your room. You are on your own in that respect. It's made worse by that tiny tiny elevator. As for food (breakfast), not great, merely fills you up.
Quality: Very Good For the money, the rooms me and my family stayed in were excellent value. Clean, functional, large. I booked 2 Family Rooms. Hair dryer's provided, kettle, complimentary bottled water, coffee and tea are all there. There's even WIFI in room, which is not what I expected a hotel at this price to have - nice surprise there. I did have an issue with the sound insulation with the rooms though. Made worse as the hotel is along one of the busiest streets in Kuantan.
Overall: This could've been a stellar hotel for its price. Sure the facilities wasn't good, but the hotel could've made up for it with better service. If you merely want a good room at a slightly more affordable price, this is it. Just don't expect much of...
Read moreHonestly i'm quite hesitant to stay here after reading all the bad reviews, but I have no choice because this is the only hotel available during my visit to Kuantan. Luckily my experience was not that bad.
We do faced some bad experience during the stay, like my husband booked a city view non smoking room, but they gave us a smoking room with no view, and with quite oily and dirty floor, my husband have to call and cnfrm again his booking and after some pung pang pung pang arguing with the staff then they promise to change the room. On the 3rd day, they upgraded us to river view room, quite spacious and much better room, well I think we deserve it. Apart from that room problem, I think all was ok.
They served breakfast buffet every morning. The food was ok, some was good like nasi lemak, porrige and bread, bihun goreng need to be pair with sambal nasi lemak, mee goreng was oily, nasi goreng not good, and dont take the frankfurter, horrible 😆 They also served fruits and salad, cereals &milk, hot coffee&tea, and juice. And they dont have egg station, but you can order your egg, extra charge for that.
They only provide towels, hair dryer, shampoo and shower gel. No toothbrush and other stuff. Sharing iron and iron board (located at the hallway), and water dispenser (also hallway). Free Wi-Fi (sometime ok sometimes not)
This hotel provide free open space parking lot at the back of hotel building.
Location wise this hotel is very stategic, located at the central of kuantan and just walking distance to few...
