Where the locals go for dinner

You would not have noticed this local Chinese restaurant have you not paid any attention. It's located behind another building facing the main road with just a small sign. It doesn't help that parking is rather limited.

It happened that most of my preferred restaurants in Raub were not opened that day and so I had to settle with Restoran Sempalit.

◾signature steamed tilapia with crispy fried garlic - quite a unique style where I got to enjoy steamed fish and crispy fried garlic at the same time. It won't wow.. just unique. ◾salted egg squid - crispy outer layer plus nicely fried squid coated with the savoury salted egg, what's not to like? ◾Stir fried fish paste with ginger & spring onion - a bit of letdown because the fish paste was not smooth nor bouncy. ◾stir fried pork belly with superior soy sauce - something that I ate at home. ◾deep fried bitter gourd with salted egg - another dish that I like.. not because of salted egg but also the crispy bitter gourd. ◾Chinese steamed egg - smooth and silky that it slid down the throat. ◾sizzling taufu with minced meat & egg - a hit with the young ones. ◾Vegetables

if you ever wanted oil-submerged fish, this is the go to place, my favourite chinese restaurant for fish since young. There 油泡白胡须公 is the best there is in town and you can never find the same savoury and quality elsewhere in the world. parking is a hassle but the place is generally for locals, dont worry about jams or having crowd.
