This shop is very dishonest in business. They cunningly overcharged us by around 6 plates of dimsum, the bill comes at around Rm 90 per pax. We were shocked and recalculated. Only then calling the boss out the boss hesitantly entertained and settled for us. Telling us their shop has a new ordering system so they made a mistake. The boss even refunded us less around Rm 3 because he simply calculated and said an amount.
Dimsum is overpriced. Rm6.50 for each plate of morsel in this small town is mind-blowing except for the pork ribs. Even in KL dimsum price doesn't exceed Rm 6 per plate.
Look at the green siew mai skin sticking at the plates, not sure they steam and re steam it everyday. The meat of green siew mai is like fish cake/fish ball, clearly is store bought, no bite & no texture.
Har gao was a disaster, it's terribly small, the filling is around a baby size thumb with scattered to no prawn meat. However, the skin is good, which we think they are serving the delicious skin more than the filling, its thick, the entire dumpling is thick 1/3 filling 2/3 skin. Looking at the picture can you see the filling inside?

I don't go to Jerantut that often so when I do, I have got to make it worthwhile. About 45-50 minutes drive through hilly and windy roads from Kuala Lipis, Jerantut has grown leaps and bounds from its early days as the gateway to Taman Negara.
I have long heard about this popular dim sum restaurant from my dad who made it a point to stop by for breakfast everytime he drove back to Kuantan.
My opportunity came one morning when I reached this town early. The sight of a regular push-cart containing various steamed dim sum made my tummy grumbling immediately.
Most of the dim sums are made fresh everyday - while the wu kok (yam puff) wasn't up to mark & the steamed bbq pork chee cheong fun could use more meat.. the rests comprised of har gao, siew mai and yue mai tasted pretty good. The red bean bao had that cute Doraemon picture on top that made my daughter's heart swooned.
For breakfast option, this dim sum shop makes a good...

Good food, definitely have to try out their signature char siew pau if you haven't because the steam bun is so fluffy and the meat wrapped inside is super tender and juicy (I’m sure you will order another one after eating)
Comfortable environment, windy and great atmosphere for family gatherings, yumcha with friends or just having a chill breakfast. As soon as you walk into the restaurant, the friendly staff will approach and serve you hot dim sum
Reasonable price for the quality and portion of food
Will definitely go back soon or maybe buy some frozen dim sum so that I can satisfy my dim sum...
