Greenleaf Guesthouse — Hotel in Pahang

Even before we discovered that our bed was crawling with bed bugs, we were hating this place.||||The room was dark, dank, and smelled like smoke when we checked in. The sheets had obviously not been changed between guests. No windows, a thin mattress, and drab old furniture really completed the charmless picture. When I asked the manager for towels, he provided me with something that was better suited as a cleaning rag than a towel. ||||The shared bathroom had stains on the toilet seat, and looked like it had not been cleaned thoroughly in years. ||||Until about 11pm, there was a kid running up and down the hall outside our room screaming and crying, and people yelling at each other along the hall. ||||Finally, things quieted down, and just as we were about to go to sleep, I noticed things crawling in the bed. Bed bugs! Yuck. ||||We hopped out of bed, got the manager, and told him we were going to a different hotel. He tried to force us into a different room, swearing that this one would be clean. He then blamed the bugs on us and refused us our money back since we'd already used his AC and his water. ||||The staff did apologise to us as we were leaving, and allowed us to leave our bicycles there overnight. In the morning when we went back to get our bikes, they were already dismantling the bed in our room and piling it into a pick-up truck, so at least they took the incident seriously. ||||Still, don't stay here. we booked a room for one night and we truly had enough...first of all the attention is terrible. The room was a sordid remodelation of what we think was a bathroom and it was more than disgusting not only for the filthy sheets and blankets but for the horrible cigarrette smelling. We had read mixed reviews before we arrived, however didn't expect it to be as bad as it was! The whole place stinks of smoke and the bedsheets didn't look like they had been cleaned or changed in a long long time so we didn't sleep in the bed but on top of the covers.
